What are you doing wearing clothes when firing a gun y0?I thought it was hip these days to run around naked with gun in hand? I knew my mate was f**king with me. You wanna pop a cap in his ass, for making you believe that.
  2. Right, heres my answer. Maybe forget a choice between an E30 or E36 (unless you have a strong preference). Just concentrate on finding a good car, regardless of if it is an E30 or E36. Why don't you try looking from what is around in both model shapes with the money you can afford, then start looking at other things like regular service history, what work has been done on it recently, what a mechanic (make sure you get someone who knows what they are talking about to have a thorough look over the car) thinks it may need etc. If you can find a car (whether it is an E30 or an E36) that seems to be sound, has been well maintained in the past, will not need too much work in the future then go for that. Both E30's and E36's that have not been looked after will inevitably need a lot of money spent over them over time to get them back in ship-shape condition. whereas both E30's and E36's that have been well maintained should both be pretty reliable, you just have to bear in mind that you are buying an older car that will no doubt have a few k's under its belt so it will from time to time need work carried out on it, just be prepared for that. Good luck, and remember you will get what you pay for. Cheers

  13. Hello Here are a few photos from the BMW CC Show N Shine hels to day at Shakespear Regional Park. There was a good turnout and a great range of cars. The weather gods also shined on us and the day was very nice. Pic 1: Brook and I following Andrew (with Dave riding shotgun) and Gus

    M3

And we all sit in wonder as to why Sparkle doesn't have the ladies beating down his door......
  15. That is not an 318is (M42) motor. That looks more like a normal old 318i engine to me. Cheers
  16. Yup, it is meant to be replaced as part of an Inspection II.Cheers

    M3

The M3 has done 78,000kms and was imported from Japan (and is euro spec and not USA Spec...which is a goodthing). It also has the sports dogleg gearbox. I am undecided if I will pursue it any further, I have been reminded (quite rightly too) that we have a wedding to pay for, and also we need to start saving for our big OE to the USA. Cheers
  18. Hello This is just a reminder to those of you to make sure you also change your fuel filter at regular intervals (50,000 kms). I have changed mine today, and the old one (which has been in the car for at least 100,000 kms) was amazingly clogged, and weighed about 3 times the weight of the new one (that is how much crap was caught in it). However, beware that even after you depressurise your fuel system, a crapload of fuel will still pour out. The cost of a new fuel filter for an E30 (M20) was about $45 (from the dealer), and it took around 1/2 an hour from start to finish to change, so it is both cheap and quick to do. Regards Grant
  19. I don't mind it. I don't particularly like it, but then again I don't particularly dislike it either. Cheers

    M3

Only way you'll get an unbutchered E30 M3.All of the RHD ones in New Zealand have been converted using the 325i steering rack, which is no way as good as the M3 rack. Cheers

    M3

I have sent them a big email with a number of questions. I am interested in it, just means I will get an M3 about 2 years before I planned and basically leave it parked somewhere until 2007 and it can be registered...but it saves on the importing etc from the USA (which is the current plan). Cheers

    M3

No, because then you would ruin a good M3. They are rare enough as it is, without people butchering them, besides would the work and cost involved be worth the additional 30 odd horsepower. Cheers
