    Sunday Drive

Just driving along and all hot cars around me. South Eastern Artierial near Sylvia Park CLK DTM - Highlight of the day. Don't care if it's genuine or not. Look and Sound bloody awesome, it goes like sting and whoever driving it sure can drive. M3 & M5 - Don't think they know each other but what are the odds of those two following one another? near Botany Downs Mustang GT - Didn't get a good look as he got stuck behind some slow cars.
  3. It's their mouth, they can say whatever they like. But it's your car, be proud of it.
  4. In the US they keep saying about Schrick cam or M3 cam can be used to take advantage of the extra airflow the manifold gives you. Some tuners reckon one should do a full exhaust and dyno tune to maximise the gain. It's a matter of how much you wanna spend I suppose.
  5. From memory the bottom edge and the bottom two corners are one piece and the top, left and right edge is another piece. These kind of things can be bought from a BMW dealer or windscreen glass people (Smith and Smith) and the likes. Mine doesn't leak but I want to change mine as well as it just doesn't look right rotting like that but hasn't got round to it.
  6. Forgot the name, but there's one specialise in BMW near Auckland Uni Tamaki campus, opp. AA Glen Innes Testing Station.
  7. Saw that in a small local dealer when I drive pass Matamata today. There's not too many for sale around, thought someone might be interested. Didn't stop to see what model of the 8-series, but it's in white. Edit: typo
  8. Get a good polish and wax, make sure your windows and wheels are clean, tyres and trims are black (don't have to be shiny, just black). It's a full days work but these are pretty cheap things to do but will make the car look much tidier. Edit: typo
  9. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ My symptom was system display showing on but no air coming out of the vents. No flickering though. Followed this site's instruction and all ok after that. Edit: typo

  11. Depends on what you're after I suppose. If you are after performance, I doubt either will get you any if at all. 4" muffler is more suited to WRX/Evo and the likes.
  12. I picked the S2000 as I always wanted one. Red leather on Black paint. But the list are of a big price range though.
  13. Saw that twice yesterday. Once stuck in traffic in SH1 near Khyber Pass. Once in Newmarket. It took off at the lights OMFG that sound glorious!!!
  14. I have the blue silver fern from Germanplates.com Can't take a pix right now since I am at work. But the blue bits (the southern cross star and the silver furn bit) is a sticker. But I had that for more than a year now, car is parked outdoor most of the time. Still as good as new. Edit: typo
  15. Excuse the thread bump. Just downloaded the latest episode - Polar Exploration (Dog Sledge vs. HiLux) in HD goodness. If you would like to watch, let me know.
  16. Some cars look awful in white, but not this one for sure. Why is there no white Ferarri or Lambo on the streets?
  17. Looks like you've replied while I was editing. Yeh, Jerry Clayton BMW. Front bearing of e36 is the whole hub. From what I heard is that you can't just change the bearing itself because it's time consuming or skills intensive to get to it.
  18. I replaced a front left bearing on 323i coupe last year. $375 all included (parts, labour, GST) That was at Jerry Clayton North Shore
  19. If you are selling your car WITHOUT the plate (i.e. seller keep the plate), then you'll need to get a new plate for the car before change of ownership. From memory around $20-30 from VINZ, VTNZ, AA and the likes. If you are selling your car WITH the plate (i.e. buyer get the personlised plate), then yes. There's a form to fill in from Licensys (the government's plate manufacturer) so they'll update the record for the plate ownership. http://www.plates.co.nz/pdfs/right_to_receive_transfer.pdf Then send to: Government Plate Manufacturer (LicenSys NZ Ltd.) PO Box 22078 Otahuhu Auckland Edit: Typo
  20. They do chage at higher rev in cold than in warm, but mine's (97 323i) change at 3000 usually but at around 3500-4000 at most even in sport mode. (why would you use sport mode with a cold engine anyway?) I don't know how bad of a jolt is yours but mine does a little bit when cold as well. The import does it because they always sits in traffic jam and use the 1st and 2nd all the time. Edit: typo
  21. I swear when I glanced at the title, fuel consumption was the first thing comes to mind. Wouldn't it be great to have a M3 with 30MPG ?
  22. When you buy a plate from private, make sure the person actually own the plate. Personalised plate ownership is separate from the vehicle ownership. Just because the plate is on a car doesn't mean the car owner owns the plate as well.
  23. Does this happen only when cold engine or does it all the time?
  24. Are you sure your BIOS is recognising the drive correctly? Shouldn't need driver for Windows XP install if it's just straight SATA. (Until I got RAID on my computer) Having said that, my WinXP install disc has SP1 in-built, not sure if that makes a difference.
