Why not finish it bro? Just look for a cheap 1.8 and box and get it running? Be worth more & more appealing that way someone just gotta add their own touches. Or why not just finish & keep it? Projects aren't worth much unless they are finished...you must be losing a bit of $ selling it as it is.

http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/factshee...rrors.html#film The van & he ute diagram show you can have anything for the back windows (which is why most Courier vans, Delivery vans , Modifed vans etc have blacked out rear windows) - which I said, is stupid cos you wont be able to see behind you (apart from side mirrors).
-
Until you're 25, any car is too much power aint it according to insurance.
-
Vans whether work or private can be literally blacked out & no visibility whatsoever. Dont understand that law, still dodgy when reversing etc but its legal. Cars, cannot be covered but some places will accept a small decal like that, especially if I see alot of them out there. Im not arguing just saying what I've seen / know.
-
Doesnt matter if business car or not. If a business car will pass then no reason a private car will fail. I'd leave it until you go for a WOF - if they say anything just rip it off then get another one after getting WOF. But looks good.
-
Dont say that... last thing I need is for mine to be deadlocked - just be another reason to destroy it
-
Depends where you go. I've seen heaps of work cars/wagons (not vans or utes) with huge decals on back windows and they are legal (id assume cos they are work vehicles). So you should be all good.

You gotta admit, this sounds f--king amazing, even though its a ....

Wow. So many haters. Just asked a simple Q - So just wanted a simple A. Settle down people.

The replica guy didnt reply to my email saying:- "so if yours is a replica cos it is the same just no bodykit then mine must be too". Wonder why? And if someone puts a M3 badge on a non-M3 model, thats just like an idiot putting a VTec or GTR or similar badge on the slower/boring version of that model. Replicas...oh man

How come theres only a "Trademe Discussions" forum? Why not make it "Online Auctions/Classifieds Discussions" as there is more than just Trademe in NZ. Or have another seperate forum for "Other Auction Discussions" or something. Just wondered.

Im not a "BMW Lover" to be honest. Alot of you probably knew that. I am a True Blue Ford fanatic thru & thru (all my mates, family & my Mrs think Im mad when they see my room == FORD stuff everywhere!) I only like the E30s (have loved them since I can remember. Not interested in any other BMWs. Only the '30s do it for me. Which is why I dont exactly diss people for what they do to their cars. Ricer or Racer who cares. As long as it tidy & legal (to that countries standards) Im all for it. We're not only "behind" the USA modified cars wises, but even Aussie is ahead of us by a few years! Their style of "showcar" is at least 5times more extreme than that of NZs wildest showcars. I've seen some bizzare sh*t in Hot4s, that makes NZ look like pussies for not attempting to do it.

Its called being different. All 3 of those cars owners' obviously spent alot of time & $ doing that. I dont think I'd own one of them (or build one), but they built it, they like it. Good for them.

The "replica m3" guy replied to my email:- its a replica cos it looks just like one but missing the bodykit. Soooo....according to his reasoning, mine is an M3 replica too, cos mine looks just like his without the bodykit. So I've got a Replica too! Yay!

$80 for the pair of interior covers or the complete mirrors with interior covers?

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=291152708 At that price, you gotta be a d*ck to let it pass. Most people want that for just ONE. Get yourself a spare at the same time! I was gonna buy them for spares, but you seem more needy than me. Eg: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-292321621.htm price is for one only. The above auction is a steal!

Pod filter or no pod filter on e30?
Shady replied to E36ShoppingTrolley's topic in General Discussion
Could be classed as weight reduction, but then you add the airbox for the podfilter & you just added the weight back. I reckon its more a "cosmetic" thing - I used to think it was form performance but I grew up, and see it as only good for Looks if you want a racey looking engine. -
Been thinking about it. All that I need for my car, the prices + labour & the small bits of rust (that I personally know exist - probably alot more) that will need to be patched - will be more than what the car is worth. The bearings alone (without labour) is pushing it. I also need, new shocks/struts & bushes/etc, diff (maybe - but definitely the seals), sparkplug leads, and alot more just havent checked everything yet.... After you add all that up, it aint worth it for this POS. Especially when it needs a full strip down for rust then paint. In the end, its just a 1.8 auto and $ I dont have (now have a baby on the way & my mrs already has 2 kids) with my own Mortgage ontop. I dont have as much $ as I used to have... So have to put my priorities right. Will be getting my 2 other cars fully mint & legal, sell them off & buy myself a VERY tidy & VERY well maintainted E30 - will find one, one day. But plans are to strip this E30 (keep the good bits & A/M parts) cos I dont want to give this car to someone else who will end up down the same road as me... So cheers for the advice guys, but Im just not going to bother with it anymore. Just try get my other cars going mint & part this sack out (gotta have at least 1 other car to drive first lol ). So will be posting a forsale thread for bits WHEN I have a car to use (will keeping driving this until 1 other is legal again).

Boot looks good though

Its always good to attempt it before paying someone. Otherwise I'd never know if I could or couldnt do it... I'm sure someone I know would have tools I can use. If all else fails, I'll bride a mate or 2, to help me in the end. (Have done 99% of what I've done so far by my self [mods & maintenance] apart from fitting the sumpgaurd cos that was a 2 man job no matter what!) Anyone got answer/s to my diff seals questions?
-
I need to replace my wheel bearings on my E30 (all 4, both front & both rear - all are disc brakes). Got prices from BMWarehouse, which is Front- $122ea & Rear- $74ea. They are direct OEM replacements -- genuine German products are $570 & $170 respectively (so I wont be going genuine lol!!) Does anybody know if these can be tracked down any cheaper, or does that sound about right for an OEM item (the cheaper price)?? BMWarehouse are usually dead cheap compared, but I was still shocked at those prices! I dont even know if its gonna be worth doing anything more to this car...cheaper to buy a tidier, more well maintained E30 and part this one out at this rate of $ I am spending!! And its still a sack of sh-t! Also got prices for diff seals and they seem all good, price wise. But said 'Diff Flange Seal' & 'Diff O Ring' (2 seperate items) - which I assume is ONE PER SIDE? My other question, whats the O rings? Do I need them when replacing the seals? What do they do? ETC. Am doing 99% of work my self on a car I dont know jacksh-t about, so any advice/help is appreciated. Can only learn by doing it myself & by asking.

If you box them up and get me a price for freight to hamiton (nzpost cheapest) I'll pay & also provide you with $$ to buy your own beers.

My 318i Auto loves wet roads. Nuff said.

My brother sold his Van so is needing a car. He is taking the van to Auckland to drop off to buyer so can pick up on Friday if you are in Auckland or there abouts. Not worried about condition, so long as it drives good, but that would of course, depend on the price you want. WOF & Rego not a MUST but also depends on Price. Prefer between $800-$1300 = Cash in Hand (no cheques, no bank transfers etc) straight cash. So if you got something suitable PM me and we'll go from there. If your local thats even better (Waikato). Not only limited to BMWs but he would prefer one - also prefer RWD if not a BMW (Ford, Toyota, etc). No Holdens (we are both Ford lovers & he'd rather push his Anglia than buy your Holden haha!) Can be a Sedan or Coupe - anything thats got guts to tow a 14ft f/glass boat (prefer not a van cos thats too big for him). Hes is very mechanically minded (alot more knowledge than me), so dont think you can rip him off

Im actually sick of these stupid auctions. Makes Trademe look like a Joke. M2CW. Should be under WHEELS & TYRES not USED CARS cos its obviously a Joke Auction but you are bidding for 4x Tyres, not a car.
