May just get me a 2ndhand 4.10 then, at that price there is no point recon'ing my diff is there. Just wont biff it out, store it away til these become near extint Is there any way (by inspection) you can tell if a diff is no good? Whats the telltale signs rather than bolting it up and listening for noises?

Overkill? Yes, maybe. But looking for prices. So why is my 318i got a 4.10 in it, if thats for the Race series? I am looking at the metal tag bolted to it, has 4.10 stamped in it... is that odd, or someone replaced it before I owned? Is it possible to recon a diff? If my diff is worth so much, would it be worth it? Just curious... (teaches me for loving skids)

Need to replace mine, but ONLY looking for PRICES atm. Prefer 4.10. Direct replacement. LSD would be good too... Remember, only looking at prices atm (so i know what I need to save up) so PM me your offer. I will be ringing/seeing wreckers for prices, so dont say "go see blah blah" cos I will be, I just wanna see if any private sellers have a spare or are wrecking a E30. Would also be great if the Diff is mint - needs to last a long time :-) (So the best price for the best Diff is pretty much gonna be the winner)

Nope, wasnt that. Took the bumper off again, persistant in finding the problem. The wiring on the passengerside had pulled apart from the connectors. I didnt notice cos its all cover in tape - bumper dropped and the wire just fell apart (thats how I knew) so just reconnected and they go now. Bloody hell Wiring looks pretty old & the connectors & plugs are all cracked etc so may look at rewiring it one day. But thanks for the suggestions ethrty, will be keeping that in mind in the future.

Took my front bumper off to replace one of the bumper mounts, then refit the bumper & both front indicators dont want to work now. I have check the wiring (looks fine), checked fuses (none blown), checked bulbs (all work fine), both are plugged in properly... What else could it be? Any suggestions? I am stumped as to what it is now...very irritating driving with no front indicators, cos they flicker super fast & its illegal. Any help appreciated!

Can anyone suggest a place in Hamilton (or someone online) who can make or has instock small pipes for the air intake for the E30? Im looking at putting a custom cold air box (behind passengerside headlight) but need a small bit of piping to extend the popfilter forward into the corner. So just looking for suggestions of who I should talk to to have one made? As above, prefer local who do custom pipes or have them instock but am happy to talk to Online Retailers. So, any suggestions? And PLEASE - NO "why bother" (or the likes) postwhoring posts. Your not welcome on this thread. MY CAR I DO WHAT I WANT. Cheers!

Cos I dont wanna be smashing my sump. Not gonna be doing a conversion until I got the $, which wont be until the Honda is sold & my Ford is going again.

You can have a look when I come see you this week. But its off an E30, I had 2 identical, 1 each from to guys claiming to be off E30s (one a young guy & one a older guy off here) so probably an older PFL or something? But it fits, almost lol. Just cant make it sit flush with the side brackets

Mounts look fine. Driverside was replaced brandnew not long ago. Passengerside doesnt seem due.

Yeah I dont WTF is up with that, but me & my mate couldnt sit it flat without it sitting on the sump...not good. so will just get a spacer block made to sit in the gap (where the bolt is missing both sides) and weld it on then bolt it on (sump wont be welded lol only the blocks)... my mate will do that just gotta get them made. And, nothing done yet bout the conversion... still gotta save money (gotta sell my Honda first). Then I'll indulge more.

Just some more work been done. Added some factory E30 Foglights. All wiring was already in the car so just bolted them in, plugged up & put the buttons in the dash (wiring also already there). Just waiting for 2 relays and then test they work... Just put my Sump Gaurd on. Just need to talk to the engineer at work and see if he can make some custom brackets made of solid steel to bolt up to the bottom bolt here (both sides) to also fill the gaps (make it 100% strong) is pretty strong atm but always best to be extra safe. (Had to leave the gap otherwise it would be hard on the sump and that would defeat the purpose of having the sump gaurd. And YES it is VERY LOW, about 60mm. So thats the current additions so far. Will update when lights & sump gaurd are finished 100%. I'll probably get fussy and change the sump gaurd mountings...will see.

Thats BullS--t My mrs has a hard time just getting them to help her pay for the kids stuff. If they were my kids and we lived togther I'd pay for it all. But not being my kids, I just cant afford it...couldnt cut back on my own stuff so let WINZ do it...or at least try get them too. Shes in alot of debt cos of her Ex not helping and WINZ being hopeless.

If she wants it to pass next wof or whatever and not worry about replacing in the next 5-10years, I'd go for brand new. The extra $ would be worth it, surely? Im planning on upgrading my shocks (not cheap) but worth it in the long run. Im just surpised they keep passing a WOF cos Im sure they are had it...

Yeap, I agree. My partners Ex (father of her kids) worked, but as soon as they had the 2nd, he quit. Then few months later they broke up. He isnt even thinking of working again cos he knows he be paying big $ to support his kids (2 kids, is more than 1?!), so instead, WINZ give her $10 a week for "CS" for Him. A big WTF!? Why not just give her all his $ so he will then want to work so he has $?! What I was told, if the father works & pays support, its a % of his wages? Just like tax is a % - the more you earn the more you pay... correct me if wrong? But nothing the Govt does works great. They always find a way to make good peoples life sh-t & lowlifes lifes great.

At least you got it back! When I first got my E30 it had the small lip on the front. Low & behold, week later its gone! Dunno if it fell off or got nicked, but I didnt notice for a while until I washed it one day. I knocked it off twice didnt think twice about checking the clips where all good. Still cant find a replacement Local or Cheap

Its his car, he can do what he wants. If he wants to blow his motor or cause some damage then thats his problem. People thrash their cars everyday - some regret it, some dont care. Its not neccessarily control, I'd call that a "fluke" for not hitting the cars (he almost went into the flowers!) cos anybody, even a 100% pro still has the split second chance of losing control.

Has a standard muffler with chrome tip (needs a buff). Off my '88 318i F/L. $5 if you want it, arrange freight or pick up. No rust, just put an A/M tip on. Will put up photo for you if you like?

Mine was half broken so I ripped it off & biffed it. Didnt know wtf it was lol...so its a bad thing its not there? Guess I should go check it out one day & see if shes rusted

My Mrs is on the DPB. She has a 3year old and a 1year old - awesome boys they are (not mine though!) and the father doesnt care about them. The amount she gets, is bugger all. Lucky if she has $25 left each week (this is to pay for personal effects & petrol etc) after paying Rent, Food (3 mouths, not 1) & putting $ aside for the Power bill when it arrives. Luckily her parents pay her phone so they can contact each other. WINZ hardly grant her anything (hasnt applied for food yet though), although one of my mates is constantly granted payouts for debts & other sh-t that he doesnt deserve, yet a Solo Mother with 2 boys has to literally beg to have help paying debts (debts on a car, baby utilities eg beds, cots, carseats, you name it), house furniture etc. But for a UB its easy, claim it you get it basically. DPB claims it, 3months later denied or accepted - usually denied or only an extra $5-$10 a week on your benefit which doesnt help much at all. Her plans are once the youngest is at kindy (oldest be there very soon) she is planning on finding a job. So I reckon they need to sort this system out...the lowlifes need tobe kicked off, I dont care if they live in the streets, I'd rather them than my solo mother partner in the streets!

I got 2 passengerside blanks. 1 is painted black other is standard red. No damage whatsoever. Dunno if you want both sides or just one etc so let me know.
