Yes I kow Coupes are longer front doors etc...but eh. And, As I said, something different. If I ruined the car, I'd just part it out & get another E30 and leave it haha. I'd rather butcher the one I got rather than buy another one, unless I found a rolling body to play with - see if it'd work then do it for real. But prefer to use the one I got now, as if it works then all good. Just need to know the legal sides of it. Like, people cut their cars down to a Ute, so this isnt as much work, I'd just be welding the doors.

Have been thinking about this for a while. Only because I want to do something different. I was thinking of making my 4Dr a 2Dr by welding the rear doors shut & installing 2Dr front seats. Im not asking whether any of you agree if I should or not cos hey, its MY car so I can do what I want - if I ruin it I will part it & buy another and leave it haha but it works then hey I got myself a Sedan 2Dr!? You can give your Opinions but honestly, they dont count Just after some opinions on THESE 2 questions (legallity related), nothing else! 1- Would it need to be Cert'd? 2- Would I need to Re-regd it as a Coupe? If I do decide to go ahead, I wont be even thinking about it until next year sometime - by then I may have decided not too bother. Just wondering if anyone on here would know the Legal sides of it. Yeah as I thought. an extra 0.2L wouldnt do much. I always wanted to just drop a 2.5L in it, but thought $150 for the body with motor might be a good score, but eh might just wait until 2010 sometime & do a nice good conversion when I have my Probe on the road to drive that while I work on the E30. Search trademe for a steering wheel, some really good buys on there, got mine for $20ish (include post) and it was never used. 13" size, way better than the HUGE factory ones. Just make sure you dont buy the cheap ones that are not solid all the way thru.

I saw those, not a bad price either. Was gutted when I asked seller if they'd fit - answer was a clear No. Should've asked them first mate? They do look identical, but the fitting is not, obviously. How far off from fitting were they?

I think it looks OK. A lil body work to tidy her up and level the height out (not much of a low rear high front fan). As for the "why do up a 320i not a 325"? Thats probably because they might not be looking for performance but just wanting looks. Thats how some builds/showcars start out...simply doing small stuff then getting carried away and whatayano its a showcar (not saying this one is, but it has potential). What price was it? Ad has now expired.

Got the knobs off the stalks. What a mish. Had to pop the end caps off and twist non-stop until they popped off. Not worth putting back on now lol all nicely munched as I het to use pliers. Now have no knobs on them until I buy the alloy ones...oh well next week. Got a bit commited when I started using the pliers, so couldnt them half on half off and a bit munched. haha

Yep.... E sounds mean. The others sound too bland and boring and not quite to the point. Where as E30WPN is telling people, it will carve them up etc the others are just saying like "look Im a turbo" ...woopdy...but my opinion is E Or could maybe try one of these but they not as good as E - but I was bored and seeing this post made me think of some others - some not so unique or cool but eh some of you may like them?:- E30ONP (just like the others out there haha yea copy). E30BST (E30 BOOST or BEAST). E30LDR (E30 LEADER) E30XTC (cos its Crazzzzy?) E30FUN (cos its Fun?) or swap around FUNE30 DVSE30 (DEVIOUS E30) QWKE30 (QUICK E30). MADE30 (cos its Mad?) or swap E30MAD BADE30 (cos its Bad?) SXYE30 (cos its Sexy?) And YES they are ALL available. May think of other soon, but not easy when you only allowed 6 charactors and E30 leaves you with 3 to make a word

Yep alot of weight for sure. Im sure after removing the radfan, it would allow more & better airflow into the actually radiator? Surely that itself, would increase performance the aircon radfan would've been blocking alot off. Why the heck they put it in the front anyway? Engine temp is more vital than cabin temp! Will be removing the indash parts soon.

I dont mind holding onto it. I may store it away & use it as a "dumby" for me to learn more about engines. Maybe do a small rebuild on it (all this after I do my conversion) just so I can continue learning stuff. Like my Probe engine - I am doing a rebuild on that so I can learn more about engines and what bit does what & how to replace/repair it etc etc. But if someone came along wanting one, then I'd flick it off.

Thats the one Im after...but wow! $170? I bought a book for my Probe & it was $70...might try find that guy & see what he can do. Cheers

Just after some very serious opinions? Whats my 1.8L engine worth? I am looking at taking the engine & 'box out & swapping over to something else in the distant future - so was wondering what I'd be looking at selling my engine for? I will be doing a few small mods to if "for now" just to tickle my "itch" until Im ready to do a conversion to something so engine wont be completely standard - eg exhaust, CAI, new leads/plugs, currently has new belts but may redo them again when I remove it - will basically give it a good service before removable. So what prices would I be able to sell it for generally? eg- engine with box would be the best way to go or seperate? I wont be doing a conversion for at least nearly a year (hence the reason of doing small mods) so just looking at what I could get for it when I DO, do the conversion. EDIT: Box may need a small rebuild as it slips from 1st - 2nd - or could be less minor I dunno? But 3rd & 4th are all good. And engine idles OK (hence why I will give it a small service soon & tune etc cos I want to). And its only done 180 000ish Ks - all legit.

Anybody know where to buy a Manual specific for the E30s? I see them in repco etc but their prices are rediculous & they also are for the 5series...What the?! Is there ANY just for E30 3SERIES? Dont wanna buy a manual, start doing some work & find out Im reading instructions for a different BMW!? Anybody got one they can sell me?

hahah all good Im used to it. We all got our tastes though, and alot of the time I prefer to do stuff on the opposite side of everyone else. Rather than follow the crowd (not everything but most things). So I take it no one really knows how to remove the covers of the stalks? Guess Im just gonna have to go have a play & "try" not break them lol oh no

Why not make it even harder? Remove the door locks & weld a patch over. Then just use the boot to lock/unlock. My drivers lock dont work only the passengers & the boot so I use the boot. Will be removing both locks soon when I decide to repaint it.
