First toy to go out the door: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=316175389 Looking for trades with a sensible [i'm only writing that because she said, so ignore sensible] vehicle. Or $2k ONO? Thanks for looking guys, I think another BMW would be very very sensible on my behalf.

My point exactly, just clearer and less rambling....

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-310704830.htm See, this is a nice E30. Not shagged with. Recaros, leather and bbs fact wheels. Good KMs, straight looking body with sharp paint. This is the kind I'd pay 5k for if it was manual.

I appreciate the good ones, even so I was asking why the prices seem so high in comparison to E36s. There seems to be a concept that E30s in an untidy state will fetch 5k. Correct me if I am wrong but that is a wee bit silly? The blue one is evidently a very nice car. I can also see why a genuine tech1/2 gets a good price as they are sought after, being "special". I'm just wondering how 318s seem to catch good money when generally they are horrid cars? A 318is e30 I can understand too, also very well modified cars [tidy and legal doesn't seem to change the price....] Recently there has been a few nice E30s sold for good money, at the same time chromed up cut springers are getting good money too. I'm just having a rant as I am wondering what to get next after I sell the boat and though a manual or even relatively tidy E30 would be nice. But not for 5k+.

5 years in an E36 and there will be no interior left..... I can understand a decent e30 being priced higher, but, the majority are over priced heaps. What are you getting for the money that you couldn't else where? Crap seats, cracked dash, munted raped drive line, sad suspension and rust.
-
Very true. It probably drives very well.
-
There needs to be more like that one, some shined up weaves, recaros and tech kit and it would be a very very nice E30.
-
Wonder what the reserve on that coupe is? That looks like the ideal E30 on a budget!
-
As are automatic 318/320 E30's, yet by year/milage a bad e30 holds it's value. Maybe I should start investing in bad E30's?
-
Nice gear knob......... Not a bad car, not sure about the price though. 8500 for a non M/S E30? Theres that very very nice m20b28 sedan from here and I'm sure it's cheaper. That's what I like to hear!!!

Very good point, the E36 is a great looking car, but, I have to agree the E30 wins there. Cult status must help and you are certainly right on finding a good E30, it's nigh on impossible. Rust is a bitch, but, nothing on a good Alfa =D I just had a look at some other cars, skylines, cefiro/taxi/laurel/tank turds and I think they have been bitten worse by the retard bug. I'll go make a coffee and be thankful I'm not wanting a Skyline/Cefiro thingyma-bob. How does one pay 6k for an rb20det, which has a monstrous 159kw in a scungy old turd that's had rubbish leaking adjusties put in it? Some people never cease to amaze me. Then again, I am a British car enthusiast [wan**r]

Why are E30's commanding such high prices these days? I'm haveing a perv at a few and to get a nice 325i you could get an E36 328, which is a superior car [although the hood lining will end up on your head]. They don't seem to be rare either, in fact there seems to be more E30 manuals than E36 manuals. I know the E30's can be a giggle to drive, is that the only reason? Not trying to be a k.n.o.b, I do love E30's.

I'd hit that! Damn grouse example of a real 5 series!

Becks and Stella for beer. Anything Brandy otherwise or a good red.

There certainly is. Be the reason I just got rid of my job there. Too many numpties.

Plus one. Don't mean to be a parade wetter, but, I paid $2k for my E36 and it was a mint [rather imaculate] 6cyl M/Sport coupe.

I'm with the Maggot on that subject, E30+rotang = fail. Is that a gtst intercooler?

Wholly phuuuu..........I just puckered up for 8 minutes.
