  1. Never had time to get that far with it after all the paint and basic crap was done. 3 years of honda is kind of enough, not including my bros650 before that.
  2. Cheers! It's hard to find any info on them
  3. A honda vt250 revving to 14. Sadly I sold the bike today, but still have the spare engine there. Was running 1.4inch pipe [weird honda headers!] into a toyota ct12a, pushing through a cut down nissan s14b intercooler. The carb work was going to be interesting, a balance between jet size/taper vs needle height vs slide speed argh Haven't got any pics of the turbo set up. It's just the headers + turbo on the spare motor at work.
  4. Yeah the garret gt turbo line up seem to offer good value for money also, generally quite strong and looking at boost maps they seem very competitive, the only better way to go would be mega money and a variable vane bugger. Or more cubes.... I have a mate running a holset hx20 off the side of a toyota soarer, jzz30, it's a bit...laggy.... even more laf than the to4e he took off....the turbo set up I was building for one of my toys would have come on boost at around 8k
  5. POR15 will destroy the surface rust. Looking like a fun project
  6. Good point. Just thank god we aren't talking holset hx20 size turbo here and were talking more than an rhb51 =D Seems like the .63 would be a nice compromise.
  7. 0.63 a/r isn't very large. But I would expect boost comes along quite nicely?
  8. Don't want to ruin the thread, but does anybody know offset and stud pattern [5x120?] for an early e12?
  9. Riding the botor mike everywhere seems like a magnet for car doors, aucks is bad and wellington drivers just aim for me.
  10. Not exactly mnid bednnig Oldie but a goodie
  11. Good score! 15x7 weaves would suit it hehe
  12. 350 chevs cost sweet fanny adams and you get decent amounts of grunt for bugger all. I can get one with a 350th on the back making 350hp [ish] for $1200, freshly built
  13. Chromes, cutties, rotangtangtangs in or near BMW's unless oem or bbs rs are just gay. Mtech wins A350 chev in a bimmer is ok though...isn't it?
  14. Don't be silly! I'm from down in Eketahuna I'm going 350 chev, turbo 350th trans and mod 9 inch rear. But, chances are I will like the e12 too much and just restore her.
  15. I'm not too new to beemers, but, new to the site. I currently don't have a real car but have decided to take the e12 off bemagirls hands and will be selling the bike to fund this interesting project [most of you will slap me for the idea I have]
  16. Do you have a compression tester? Or multimeter that does duty cycle? If so, check the plug dwell, you could re-check ignition timing, look for intake leaks to. Good luck
  17. Christ dude, that's been a bit of a read! Good to see projects like this [i'm a project kinda dude too lol] Wiring is a bitch, bring it to eketahuna and I can help, mind you it's a long way to push. I went down the turbo route with one of my bikes, sadly the budget wouldn't let me finish. So I'll sell it instead
  18. If you still have it I will talk to my boss and see if we can bring the race car trailer over the hill. I need something to slap a 350 chev into....this is cooler than the e34 I was going to use
  19. Would that not depend on the type of pre load or type of lsd whether or not the oposite wheel rotates the other way whilst under no load?
  20. G'day chaps, I have been on the site before but have forgotten my old username. I am currently looking at an E30 325I manual sedan at the moment as a swap for my little bike. The listing on trademe has expired as of today. It has 283ish k on the clock, nz new, reasonably straight looking sedan. What should I look out for? The last BMW I owned went and snapped a rocker on me [same motor...] Anything that goes wrong in the e30's that I should be scared of? Apart from the dash electrics... According to the listing the car had the cam belt, accessory belts replaced and any small mechanical dramas aren't exactly a worry, I am meant to be a back yard mechanic....and panel beater. Any help would be great Cheers
