  1. Go for a 328i mate, in auto form [with the lock up converter] the 325 are gutless down low. The 328 never ceased to amaze me, the 325 has a very fun power delivery [bloody addictive] but sadly only in manual form when the bottom end isn't destroyed by a poorly set up auto. So 328i = awesome fun in auto and manual. 325i= great fun when in song [auto and manual] 320, not worth getting over a 318is. There wasn't much difference between vanos and non vanos 325's, they both went around the same with the auto box
  2. Yes!!!!!!! The H16 was also a yummy engine. It's a shame the V16 never really worked correct because it was just incredible
  3. There is absolutely nothing to do in Eketahuna
  4. Good luck mate. I have always wanted one of them. Would make a brilliant race car
  5. Glad to be of assistance. It is looking rather tasty though isn't it?

    Ugly BMW's

    That is seriously cool
  7. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-248536107.htm This is quite tempting. Could be headgasket, but, I would suspect it's had an attack of NikASil fail....
  8. I would keep one of them as factory standard as possible.
  9. My wee wee has been struck by rigor mortise...... I miss my E34. I need, want, lust and wish I had that
  10. Why would you throw a 1uzfe in an e34? I can see the chance it may be a more reliable 540i [with slightly less power and significant lack or torque] Why not go for a more powerful V8? I'd still own it though, have always wanted an E34 V8, even if it's slow.
  11. 350 chev ftw. Cheap, easy, simple, enough power to kill any diff.

    My poor lada!

My E12 only cost me $200 and it has paid itself back and then some already. But I wouldn't treat it like that lol

    My poor lada!

Hahahahahahaha I remember my Lada paddock car days.
  14. I don't like Honda's but many of their silly VTEC engines actually have very flat torque curves and produce reasonable torque to liter outputs. The VANOS is working towards the same goal as Veeeeeeeeeeetec. We shall pretend this video never happened
  15. That is sad, preludes aren't fast....not even the red top ones
  16. It all depends on the application, both have their positives and negatives as already said. All the faster Forced induction drag cars are supercharged because of response, predictability and the fact that they produce power everywhere when set up right. Both can be orientated towards high RPM or low RPM power. The bloower on our rail takes an estimated 500hp to drive up the top end, but the gains we get outweigh that. As for VTEC, ooooh that stuff is hard core! I love how overcoming a compromise has been turned into a wonderful bromantic thing. VTEC overcomes the compromise of cam characteristics and somehow that has made it an amazing thing....Hmmmm
  17. It would look great either way
  18. Have you tried checking the sensor? The resistance/circuit on the reverse light wiring? Also cheat and put power to the reverse light wires to make double sure there is a circuit [don't cry if a fuse goes pop]
  19. I've run both of them or have driven cars with them and they are nothing great. Neither are the hankook. If I want a good rubber that lasts and works extremely well I get bridgestone potenza re01r [ the re01 are crap but the re01r are brilliant] My brother ran the RE01R on his GSR and found them awesome, a mate had them on a trueno and it really made the trueno look like it almost handled well.
  20. I never buy 91 in Eketahuna, I only buy our 95 [it's thicker and tastes like treacle mmmm]
  21. Mine has six and two vacuum boosters, both of which are remote mounted. Take that! Four piston front callipers were quite something in 73 I am led to believe, as the Regal with the 318ci in it at work only has tiny sliding single piston pussy things. Yuck
  22. Aha now THAT looks like my idea of fun!!!!!
