Do you know if the PFL and FL exhaust had the same sized piping? You reckon i can get them to just use the current flange on my old exhaust to hook up to my current manifold?

Unsure, but i assume they would.. then again, i assumed the flanges would be the same between FL and PFL but when i went to bolt my exhaust up, it just wouldn't go and it took me awhile to figure it out that they were ever so slightly different.

Yes if the flange turns out to be the different size then you could get it swapped off your old one easy enough.

I just put a fl m20b25 in my pfl 325i and found out the flange on the manifolds is a slightly different length between them.

The fl manifold flange was about 10mm longer length ways but the width was the same im pretty sure. This small size difference means you cant really tell just by looking at them, they need to be measured.

I have this fl manifold i can sell you if you wanna measure the spacing between the holes of your exhaust flange and let me know.

I have one that came off a facelift e30 325i with 160,000kms. Will have to check the part number is the same as yours

Thats the cylinder identification sensor thats used on the facelift motronic 1.1/1.3. You dont need it and i would look at cutting it off.

I see that m3 around a lot as he lives in my suburb. Seems to be daily driven so i wonder really how much its changed since those photos were taken. Havnt had a good chance to look at it up close but still looks pretty damn nice driving around.

Very interesting regarding the the whole speed camera thing. Last xmas eve, i received my first speed camera fine (108kph) for the ten years ive been hooning around. I have the german made euro plates and the thing that surprises me is that I have a zero which is supposed to have a line through it here but the euro font doesnt. The guy in the speed camera van must have first tried to search for my car with a "O" then tried a "zero" when it didnt come up with my car.

Took photos with the original plates on the car and was gonna fight it but thats as far as i got.. it was only $30 at the end of the day.

Also, people need to paint in the gaps/slashes that some of the characters (like on the zero) have so they arent so obvious. its a dead give away and can be seen from miles away.

MP Autoparts in Upper Hutt skimmed mine down to 6.5kg from memory. The guy didn't want to take any more off even though its standard practice by all the yanks to take them down to 6kg safely. I could try and find the receipt if you want a rough idea of a price.

The E30's have a poor steering ratio. Im doing an e36 rack swap as we speak and just dummy fitted it into the car last night. Pretty simple really with the hardest part being bending the p/s lines a bit to suit the E36 rack.

Just registering my interest in two sets of plates when you do this next.

Genuine is 92, try that before you do anything else.

On E36's they are 92C but E30's are 80C. The genuine one i pulled out was 80C. If it is the temp sensor, then the gauge sensor would be faulty too as that seems to read well

Isn't there different temperature ratings for thermostats? i.e 88c, 92c

Mine are both 80degree ones. Can you actually get hotter thermostats?

Nope but I tested it before I put it in and it seemed ok. Might not be a good fit so will be putting the genuine one back in and inspecting the housing while im at it.

I replaced my thermostat the other weekend and it now seems to run even colder and takes longer to warm up

Can the thermostat housings cause problems like this when they get old/corrode?

Whats the quality like on the badges? Id be keen on the front one
