Lol. You make a very good point you know. . But those who do that look and constantly want to inspect a lot of cars. I so far have only liked 2 cars and even out of one of which I backed off due to the interior and issues. I have sold many cars and I think I can tell tyre kickers from their attitude, they ask small questions, come by, usually some snotty teenager or some kid in their early 20's (usually chicks) who come by try to low ball the price before they want to drive it. Or they just kick the tyres and leave. Here's a funny story, I was selling a car about 4 years ago, and this young couple came by, they curbed the wheel and their tyre deflated infront of my house, I helped them with my jack and stuff and put their tyre back for them, gave them a tour of the car, (I think it was a mazda or a honda). They said they like it and will come back in an hour, kept me waiting till I texted them if they were still coming, said. No sorry, not interested. "Well ya coulda texted me and said that when ya wanted me to keep waiting for hours, f^ckers" To be Honest, these cars are now pretty old like it or not and they dont cost as much as they used to, The 318is went for 5K from turners. no Kidding, Still have the receipt! Now they can be had for a lot less. Heck yanks are paying like 5K ~ 6K for their e36 m3's these days (canada ones with the euro s50b32 motors). I dont know, just because I can afford it doesn't mean I should just go nuts and spend it.. I made a budget, and a tight criteria, interior, exterior, mechanical must be good, must have lower km's and lsd is prefered. And for that will go above 6K (okay maybe a bit more) But thats it. I always had plans to own a 328i, I was waiting for the right time, I know if I wait long enough I can get one that fits my criteria. Thing is, waiting is the hardest part. As long you replace the diff fluid you should be fine. Ofcourse eventually the locked diff will become a open diff but taken care of that wont be anytime soon. (fingers crossed) Speaking of which, when was the last time anyone with a LSD here replaced theirs? I will see what the seller says and if I like the sound of it I will pop in this weekend and take it for a spin around allans house. Yea, I know that guy, I have bought stuff from him before, didnt know there were so many members here who are also sellers on trademe. Lets see how it goes, I am also expecting something from the Blue car owner, I might just end up offering him a bit more closer to what he wanted, that is if his other deal fails and he still doesn't budge.

I slid into a ditch and now I am suddenly ditch boy, looking for a new toy. a 25% LSD may not sound much but its pretty fun. Better to get the power to the ground and handling overall, you have more control over your car if you know how to counter steer out of a skid. Unlike that asc + t you probably got on your e34 which cuts off the power most when you need it. I have owned cars with LSDs and without them. why do you think I want a e36 with lsd so bad. If I bought one without it, I would go buy one and spend a night putting it in. I want it to be exactly what my other car was. Doesn't have to be fast, just has to be fun to drive and in good mechanical and physical shape. And the diff gears should be just fine, as long as the owner wasn't a track sloot and drove his car too aggressively all the time.

The Car already looks kinda lowered, I wonder if somewhere down the line the owner had the shocks and springs done. Seems to be one NZ owner apart from the canuckistani owner before him. Okay I messaged the seller. Not sure if I will be too keen but lets see where this goes. I have a m3 rear bumper and sides, will probably grab a front one from tardme. I know a guy who can respray it all for me to match the colour. is shocks and springs all I need to do? I dont want to go through a complete overhaul. How much am I looking at Jared? You seem to be the handling guy. Also, what puts me off even though its got a LSD its the fact the M50 motors potential, the m52 seems like easier to work with to get better hp/torque with motor only mods.

Yer never gonna take me alive in those, to be honest the 318is slussy box aren't that bad. they were ratted one of the best under 30k handling cars of the 90's. besides, its not like you drive a stick or something. a boat with a auto with the life time fluid and a 20 year old suspension not looked after wont be too far away from my slushy box. oh my! you are right.. I was just reconsidering my options since a 325i is not that far off...but now that you have said it, maybe you are right..na f it. i wont settle for less. Its either a e36 328i or a e34 540i. With the consideration of a 325is, but that's a wild card (since the both make similar hp numbers with the exception of the 328i making more torque and 300cc more displacement. I am willing to go more then 6k if the car is more worth it to me. colour of the car and the options matter too. personally I dont see myself paying over 6k for a 328i with no lsd or some sport options. can you get me such a car, that is a 540i and can out accelerate / handle an good 328i(like the the blue one you drove)? interior of the 540i's are hands down makes e36 insides look like some cheap yankmobile. my price isn't exactly set in stone but I like to bargain too, I wouldn't want to pay for something overpriced and if it can be had for a bit less. edit: a 540i..something like this, in black or white.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/nz/auction-678501090.htm

On a more serious note.. I dont think what Colin said was a bad idea..hold on now....Look I dont care that much about speed. I can ride a motorbike for that. I had the 318is and I was happy with it, I care more about condtion and handeling. So a 325IS or even a 323 or 320 or another 318is at the right price may not be too far fetched. I shouldn't put them off the list. I see he has a point. You know in good condtion, featured and all. why not give it athought..Problem is...I dont see anything at all I like. I saw a few very nice 323i's and 325is cars last year, but now that I need one they are all gone!

Na. I considered a 325i last year, but ended up picking the 328i as it had more potential 300cc more displacement and was the the sucessor to the 325i. But the m50 sure sounds better. I will be happy with a poor mans M5 or M3. As long as its in tidy condtion. Maybe I should just give up. There is no point, I want a 328i or 328is. in good condtion, not a ragtop, with decent milage, good interior and exterior, msports package(body and suspension), auto is fine, manual even better - dont care much, lsd would be prefered. But the lack of these features(higher milage, no lsd, bad interior etc will cause the price come down. Reason i am not going over 6K. but maybe I should. ah, nice! ok. lets see how much I still remember edit: exhaust & silencer prevents noise & gases from entering the car. could've been phrased better.. other then that, they upped some rules (max speed by 10km/ph) not much of a ford fan. just not for me

The 540i seems to have a more grunty engine with more ponies. Even at auto it wont feel that far off slugish I guess compared to the 328i I was wanting. I guess I expected the ommph to make up for the lack of what I was looking for in a 3 series. I dont know really. Maybe because, its a poor mans m5. lol with two guys in undies, a ragtop mazda can be fun for everybody who swings both ways. and when it flips over you get decapitated in style. dont think allan would appreciate my head hanging around his lawn one morning. Marks car is a beauty, but its a 535i. I would think of a 540i. also the price is a bit more then I want to spend. I contacted the seller I'll keep looking and see if the other guy (blue car) considers my offer. if any of you guys come across something worth looking at anywhere, drop me a line here. I remember seeing some nice deals on trademe just 6 months ago, a 325i with a m52328i motor with around 150K) stick, new interior and lsd went for around 4.5 - 5K dont know....I gotta go man...

whos gaz? and whats he selling? I so hate the interior of e36's. they all fall apart and the local upholister charges me an arm and a leg for crappy jobs. really dont want to spend my days working on the looks inside and out anymore. the exterior and feel is all I like of these cars.

it lookd really nice, colour was very similar to my old one, I would had flown there and drove it back if the guy took my earlier offer but he said 12K. He will keep lowering it as intrest drops. See that car you checked out, he dropped the price like $250 every week. at first he was asking like 7500. in last 3 weeks he dropped the price to $6500. these are old cars, apart from a select few those want one, most peole wont pay over 6K for them, and that is if its Really tidy inside and out. lets see what happens. I am willing to pay a small premium but this doesn't have either a stick or lsd. it took me a year to restore the stuff on my 318is and I had it for almost 5 years. it served me well. I dont wana go through all that again. the devil is in the details. about 2 - 3 years max. I'll leave the country after that.

No Worries Graham, Well, someone earlier mentioned that guy was using all china tyres and stuff around his car. its a few pages back I think, I did offer the guy earlier around 7. But he was frim on 12K. so I left him alone. Jared also mentioned a small oil leak somewhere on that car, I like it really. I can live with the fact that its an auto but no lsd will bug me. I'm just trying to see if I can get it for less. Do you guys reckon I should offer him 6K instead or wait a bit till his other guy who offered him dies down? this is getting ridiculous,i know...I'll see what I can find and keep looking

I know what you mean, I am just consideting everything, if I was to get LSD I can grab a rebuilt one off trademe for like $1000 direct swap. thats no problem, but then if I end up paying 6.5 for it I total cost comes down to near 7.5 - 8K. rebuilding the motor with us S52b30 internals another 2K. See.. we have 10K right there. I can live with an Auto, thats what I have been driving since I got here. really wanted to keep costs a bit down. Even if hes not bluffing about his 6.5K weekend offer and I was to offer him 6K, I cant make it till Sunday/Monday (when someone I know will get off work and come with me). Hey Guys, I offered him 5.5K. Its not that bad of an offer. Its not a good idea to get too frim, I once bought a lemon car from trademe which had a bad water pump, turned out the entire head was gone. I was frim on selling it at a price but then some asian kids offered me like 100 less then my asking price and they sticked around for a good half and hour but. I didnt take their offer, a month later I ended up selling it for $500 less. Sure there is a chance the seller gets his asking price, but often chances are slim. I would give him 6K if it had a stick or lsd, either one. but nope. My friend converted his to a manual, and its been one issue after another. Jared has also said he did some conversions and would rather start with something that had a stick to begin with. I know what you are all thinking now, Damn it ... Mojo....here we go again... But you remembe that other blue car with the Chinease Tyres? The Guy was dreeming of 12K. He dropped the price now down to 8K in a week. lol. I think if the guy who offered him 6.5K doesn't take it. He will come back to me. 5.5K is still not a bad price. I offered based on what I found the car was worth to me, it needs a few things, like a LSD and some work. I also want to build the motor down the line which will run me another grand or more. So I am just thinking two steps forward and rying to keep everthing in line. Well they said I should probably stay away from it, The guy bought it for around 3.5 - 4K and is selling like only after 6 months of buying it. I said I will think about it after my friend checks it out. But I think he misunderstood and told Jared hes ben offered 6.5K this saturday... I am gonna go and offer him tonight and work it out. PS: Car doesn't have LSD. And had a sagging headliner he said he will fix for the new owner. You guys think 5 - 5.5K would be an honest offer? I doubt anybodyw will pay over that, let alone pay 6.5 - 7K for it.
