  1. Go for fibreglass resin sheets for door cards .. As light as carbon fibre .. Easier to cut to shape and you can easily mold shapes if required just get some mats of glass fibre and apply resin. Just like paper mache
  2. Didn't the last one have a bunch of black BMWs too??
  3. Welcome and come to the next meet!
  4. all good guys .. totally understand (and appreciate) if there are other cheaper options out there! because I would jump on those too! just noticed the Koni US special and thought it was a good deal I would share .. if there is a better source then I'm all ears .. perhaps even the best priced place will do a group buy for all of us and combine shipping!!! Cheers
  5. Is it going to feature one m3 with the rest for crashing purposes? Or more than one? Haha
  6. yeah the guys at Koni are pretty onto it, but we'll see what happens. Do you know a manufacturer who does good shocks for an e31?
  7. what part numbers were you after? Much easier to quote based on a p/n ..
  8. I'll talk to Koni and get back to you .. maybe they can piece together something from other BMWs
  9. Yeah that was what I was thinking! H&R springs with koni yellow sport shocks are a great set up (so I've heard). I don't know if local suppliers pass on the savings, they have an 8 week lead time and just quoted me the $1580 all up. (basically they were charging NZD per shock what KONI sell a pair for in USD). might pay to call around and refer to the actual ad? I suppose it depends also where they are getting their stock from .. another distributor or from KONI USA or from another KONI dealer? the approximate 1100 price would include all shipping taxes etc to your door .. just gauging interest .. like I said, I want to deliver the other parts first!! But at the same time .. the discount is only good until the end of the month, so just riding the timings I guess!!
  10. Check this out! http://www.koni-na.com/cat_search_form.cfm to search for shocks http://www.koni-na.com/uploads/30261_Shock_Value_Consumer_PR.pdf Retail in NZ for a set of damper adjustable sport shocks for my e36 m3 would be $1580 including gst .. called around. Sea freight and dealing direct with Koni could land these in nz for ~$1100 all up incl gst, duty, customs, shipping etc course I have that other group buy going .. so maybe expressions of interest just to see if anyone is in the market for a set of shocks? I might bring some in for myself! .. the special lasts only to the end of month I think ...? just thought that it would be good for those items to deliver before anyone else puts any cash up front for another order! (all the parts are on a boat!! .. don't want to seem dodgy running two group buys!)
  11. Good news! Confirmation everything is on a boat headed our way! Then its time to coordinate duty and customs, then hopefully straight to you all!

amber, you can get some spring packers (not sure what they are actually called) to bump the front up a bit (they sit between the spring and the perch mount) and are usually used to even out the ride height .. might help with the fronts .. not sure of the limits of how many you can use (they come in various sizes and are stackable).
  13. i dont recall any dedicated e30 drift cars .. but you should have no problems finding e30 parts, and no problem finding LSx parts!! we have a lot of e30s around wrecking for body panels .. we have a lot of LS engines from holdens which are very very common around these parts of the wold ..
  14. Thanks guys .. Despite my efforts he won't buy a BMW as he thinks it will cost him lots in maintenance. Although a small win .. He's not buying a celica !!
  15. Hi all A friend is looking for a daily which is more economical than his current wrx. Can anyone here please provide any experience they have of how thirsty a 318 is? Are they safe to run on 91 fuel? Any responses appreciated. He is thinking of a St205 celica fwd which by online info is worse than his wrx!!! Thanks
  16. Unfortunately mods on most cars don't make too much of a difference on the price .. Unless they are hugely custom. If you are happy with the car as it is ... A manual conversion might be what you're looking for.
  17. Saw a2k today at the airport ... Mint car!! Wish I had taken a photo!! E46 M3 with adjustable suspension and that cool swept boot lid
  18. Any droning at motorway cruising?
  19. That's what I thought. But can't find any compressor maps for the sc14 ,I don't think Toyota ever released anything. Also heat of the charge goes up with rpm so risk of detonation or not enough fueling increases a lot especially with the high 11.3 to 1 compression.
  20. I did something similar .. Agreed to sell some parts and then advertised that I had a buyer and would let it go for x amount unless someone wanted to offer more. The guy was rightfully upset and pulled the deal, I apologised and offered him a discount or some extras etc but he was all good about it after we spoke. Ended up selling to him a few weeks later. Lesson learnt though. And if you're reading this mate I'm sorry again!!
  21. split shipment means another chance to bring in some parts! If you had some doubts and/or money problems before, try again?!
  22. What sort of tyres and how wide etc?
  23. Sorry guys, but like the first post said .. Estimated shipping time is 6 to 8 weeks and we are about half way since ordering. I have worked to get the springs here sooner hopefully!! (See image above! ) silly boats need to go faster!! Haha
