I recently purchased @Aphexic's E39 540i. Overall it's in pretty good condition, with a tonne of service history dating back to 2009. This thing has had some money spent on it over the years.
The car has just ticked over 200,000 km's.
Here's some photos of it in it's new home.
Things I'm intending to do as time and money allows:
OEM Msport style 66 wheels(hurry up and post them @oldskool ? )New tires: Potenza RE003 235/45/R17 Front and RE050A 255/40/R17 on the rear.Bulbs: Angel eye bulbs and H7 low beam bulbsThermostat and coolant. Has had cooling system overhaul at 180,000 but thermostat seems to be all over the shop.Chain guides and timing chain + waterpump.Thrust arm bushings - has a strong vibration around 90+ km/hMAF - randomly when stopping at an intersection or lights it stalls and today it was hunting like it had a vacuume leak but then later on it idles perfectly.Tow barDrivers door sealnew water jet hoses- 8

Unfortunately / fortunately it was more of a sprint home as I had to work the next day at 7AM. I left Glenfield around 8:30PM and got home to Wellington about 3:30AM @325_driver

Looking forward to seeing this one.
Yeah...kinda hard to justify two sedans.....but the 540i will tow the boat ?.....once I get a tow bar for it.....

I got it. It's now in Wellington ? The drive down was worth the purchase price alone. Now......let's see how long the chain guides last ? Also anyone selling a set of style 65 or 66 rims?
Holla,
A.

any idea what it costs to fit a tow bar to one of these?

Thanks for your reply @allan. It's for an E30 325i. Those were the numbers on my current one. I've found one in Auckland with the same numbers.
Thanks.
Adrian.

Just dug out the email: $550+gst comes as a kit with pressure plate, clutch and release bearing. This was about this time last year so prices might have changed slightly.
Since then I've sourced most of my parts from either FCP Euro or Pelican though. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-clutch-kit-325e-325i-325is-524td-528e-325es-e30-e28-kf296-02 FCP by rough calculations will be $427 but you will be on the line as far as customs are concerned, but if they catch it you are still only looking at $491 which is cheaper than Speeds $550. FCP stuff arrives in roughly a week.
Best,
A.

Heya,
sorry these sold last night.

FS: XYZ adjustable camber plates with Koni collar nuts.
I purchased these for a suspension overhaul but didn't end up using them as my current mounts were in good condition and I didn't have the koni strut nut issue that other people have had. I paid $240 from speed factor, looking for $140. Pick up Wellington or can post at buyers expense.

E30 got some love yesterday.
New 8mm High performance leads
Bosch distributor cap + Rotor
Bosch Injectors
VDO fuel pump
Rocker cover Gasket and plugs
Wanted to do the TPS but have the wrong part :-( turns out the Auto one is different to the Manual. Has anyone spliced the auto to a manual? Picture of the auto one attached. The manual TPS is 3 pin (same as the ICV).
CHeers,
A.

Thanks, yeah it's super worn! good spotting. I agree, anthracite headlining option is good.
