  1. Where are you for pick up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I kept the e36 ones and have been no issue. Just obviously need to do the toe... I had to wind them way in when i did my tape measure toe adjustment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. This is a seriously amazing bit of kit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. what is the date stamp on the tyres?
  5. A fantastic and easy mod for a 318 or 320
  6. Hijack! So would the purple tag rack fit in an e30 seeing as the e36 rack fits? I've just finished the e36 conversion and it's a great step in the right direction Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Appreciate the comments. You've just about convinced me of my folly! So, by the period correct rational should I put the 14" bottle caps my car came with back on? Some 15" weaves might convince me to go period and I do like the 14" weaves I have. I just googled rc090 wheels and they are definitely not me- are they considered period correct? I'd be interested to know but I think the wheels were intended for e30, maybe they were fitted to a jap import e30 seeing as they are Japanese. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. the guy I bought them off had them on an e30 when he bought it. Perfect centre bore and offset with BMW bottle cap (I reckon) centre caps. I dig what you mean by the period correct thing, I wasn't so sure myself but they've grown on me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I just scored these new wheels and I think they look pretty damn good. They are Japanese and I have no idea what brand. have attached photo before with 14" basketweaves and after with the 16" somethingorothers. Does anyone know what they are? Opinions welcomed - positive or negative. BTW I will prob be selling the basket weaves so expressions of interest welcomed. Problem is they make my car look faster than it is!
  10. Hi all I spent ages looking for E30 325i front and real sway bars and now I have ended up with 2 front ones. I've seen them go for $150 but i'll take $100 free postage to anywhere in New Zealand. I can honestly say that it is a well worth while mod and has transformed my car. Photo (for what it's worth) below. There are also a couple of decent rubber bushes to go with it. Bolt it straight in in about half an hour and enjoy
  11. Oh just read first post! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. They are for the 52mm front struts not 45mm I guess? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Gee, I'd better not tell you about my 14 inch wheels, 45mm struts and M40 engine lest i get your un-asked for opinion on those too eh
  14. pfft. BMW + worn out shocks = YUK
  15. Thanks guys. some valid points! I have already got offset bushes in the front, but i have now purchased and installed a 20mm 325 sway bar and new urethane super pro sway bar "D" bushes to match my already installed 12mm rear sway. It is amazing! The difference of just 1.5mm in sway diameter and some new bushes is noticeable and has transformed the car (along with the new shocks/springs all round and the E36 rack). The front sway immediately balanced the handling nicely back towards the front and i can say that i have a car that is a blast to drive with predictable handling (tested on a greasy wet road like i was 20 years younger than i actually am ). I'm sure the track will show up some different handling characteristics but I can confidently recommend the 325 front/rear sway. The Monroes are doing me just fine as I am too tight to buy any of those fancy ones!
  16. Ahh. Sounds logical. It's such a fun and good handling car that I get a case of obsessive compulsion to make it a funnerer and gooderer handling car. I think It's "shut up and drive it " time! ......... Still keen on 325 front sway! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. aint no welds in my strut towers but point taken. so whats the purpose of threaded strut braces? do they only exist for people like me to ask dumb questions about them?
  18. How about those ones with threaded width adjustment ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I realise there is no factory camber setting ability but I thought there were strut braces with a certain amount of adjustment to push towers apart. So how do you do it 3pedals? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi all Ive recently lowered my facelift E30 (for handling but to be honest I think it looks great too). I'll get plenty of flack no doubt but I went lows in the rear and super low kings in front. I have checked the camber in my own special back yard way and it is -1.6deg FL , -1.2deg FR, -1.2deg LR, -1.3deg LR. Is the 1.6deg front left a concern? also, from what i read about handling it's nice to have a little more in the rear than the front so it's not as tail happy, would one of those strut braces with the adjustable width be able to tune the front to have less or should i shut up an drive my car. I have put a rear sway bar in too but still have the standard 318i front sway so it's definitely set up for tail happy . driving in the rain and being a clutch popping dick the other night appeared to prove that (still looking for a 325 front sway)
  21. New shocks and springs all round . Tick. E36 rack. Tick 325i Rear sway bar. Tick I am on the look out for a front thicker 325i sway bar for my e30 to complete the already pleasing package. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Hi there. What diameter is rear sway bar? Would it fit a 318i coupe or is rear end different? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    E30 love

Hmmm, I think that's all very doable but will probably put the engine transplants on the back burner for now. especially if Im importing things from america to do so with their damn appreciating dollar. any recommendations on a rear can? The current one is prob a WOF fail because its cracked

    E30 love

Thanks for that. This m42 talk has prompted me to save a search on trademe. I'm not in a massive hurry - handling first , power later. Good to know they arent as rare as i thought. I'll get it to a track day or two and see what i hate/love about it first. My shakedown runs have all been on the summit road between Mt Pleasant and Evans pass which, if you know the road, leaves no room for error (sky ground sky ground sky ground.........thud). I'm loving my e36 rack, just enough quicker so i don't have to pretzel my arms to turn a corner.... recommended
  25. Hijacking thread slightly here but how much are your munroes and bilsteins Brent? I'm looking for fronts and rears for 318i. Shane
