  1. I'm looking for a set of E38 front contour seats in black.........everything considered...Cheers
  2. Hmmm quite a discussion on buying a used car....lol........all I want is to see this colour in person as I may want to have a car (non BMW) painted this colour.
  3. Rather nice colour, I would like to see it (the colour) in person. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1218774277.htm
  4. An 840ci this time, only with the 4l not the 4.4, quite a premium price too http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1221579385.htm
  5. Personally I'd rather drive a E39is, it pulls from 1000rpm in 6th and will hit 160 in 3rd. It is just so easy and such a total pleasure to drive, although I wouldn't throw it through corners like I did with my E36 coupe, but it isn't far behind. A couple of years ago I saw a couple of E39 540is's on TM and they both sold for pretty good coin. I turned down 10k last year because I couldn't think of anything I'd like to replace it with............perhaps a low mileage (under 100k) E39 M5 but I've seen more M5's for sale than 540is's another BMW I wouldn't mind is a 840i manual but I've never seen one of them for sale either. Has anyone got a set of 18" Type III's for sale? Also has anyone retrofitted NBT idrive into a E39?
  6. I'm looking for a set of staggered 18" type III ACS rims for a E39 let me know what you've got..............Thanks
  7. Well I see he relisted the blue 528i and changed the description to almost exactly the same as the green 520i. I tried asking a question but he's blacklisted me. I see he also won an action for a 728i and didn't follow through, coop was probably lucky he didn't win the auction for his 530i.
  8. Yes I see all the questions and answers have disappeared. I know the first two questions I asked, when he described it as a "Schnitzer Motorsport" also vanished, and the answer with his phone number also vanished the day after he posted it.
  9. I see he dropped the price when it was a 540i ($4200) and has now raised the price since it lost 2 cylinders back to a 528i ($5740) ........wow a magic BMW. Does he own it or is he trying to sell someone elses car?
  10. I see he's now put some photo's back up but none showing the registration number.
  11. The one that is still listed was the Blue one which is supposedly a 540i, only now he's deleted most of the original description and removed one of "jonbird's" questions. Chris would be able to verify if he came up from Timaru and testdrove his 530i
  12. I thought the same as you twiggles94. Now I see the photos have gone and the descriptions changed 1026957297 and he's dropped the start price to $4200 Wonder if it's a scam, I see he pushed the bidding up on coop's e39 as well, got $6.00 from the high bid and then let the auction finish.
  13. I wouldn't mind swapping my 17" type III's for the 18" type III's...
  14. Yep he might like E39's but I just thought it odd that both had exactly the same work done on them, including rebuilt transmissions. I notice trademe removed the listing for the Green after he relisted it.
  15. chrisj_85 has listed two E39's on TM recently auction 1015278929 which has finished then was relisted and removed by TM and 1026957297 I see the Blue one when listed was listed as a Schnitzer motorsport and is now a luxury motorsport. Has two E39's and is also bidding on "coop" 530i
  16. Have a correction it is a 540is not an "ia" as originally posted. I was thinking around the 10 - 12k mark for it and most seem to be around those figures. It was built 29/1/98 which makes it pre vanos, one thing I do know is at around 3000rpm it takes on a new lease of life all the way to the redline, from memory it'll hit 160k in 3rd and is just a joy to drive.
  17. Yes in your eyes it maybe a BMW with a body kit, but that's all any Schnitzer BMW is. But the Schnitzer mods don't only include a body kit, try looking on Schnitzers website for what their mods can include. At the end of the day this is a unique BMW, being a special ordered BMW 540 with a 6 speed manual and the addition of Schnitzer upgrades fitted by BMW. 4th gear it's a '98 and all the suspension arms have been replaced with genuine BMW arms, if I get sentimental and keep it then I'll end up replacing all bushes, arms and shocks. It has had a new clutch, flywheel and the cam cover gaskets done, radiator, overflow bottle replaced, and new O2 sensors. Big difference in price 15k - 8k. I see good E39 M5's bring as much as a E60 M5
  18. A couple of the interior
  19. I've been thinking about selling my E39, it is NZ new with 3 private owners and 2 car sales. This car has been a pleasure to own and the only problem I've had with it (apart from maintenance and servicing) is a fuel pump replacement. It was delivered new to a businessman in Marlborough, who specially ordered it. Then a few years latter traded (I presume) and another owner got it and sold it to me at 99.000km, and in the last 8 years I've put almost 100k on the clock, so it's now getting close to 200k on the clock. It still drives great and on my last trip back from Nelson I watch a Porsche Cheyanne almost run off the road trying to keep up with me. The car was ordered with quite a few options, comfort seat, de chromed, debadged, motorsport options including suspension, and the 6 speed manual amongst other things. After the original owner purchased it the car was sent back to BMW and fitted with a S5 Schnitzer kit, wheels, spoilers, side skirts mirrors, exhaust etc. So this is quite a unique car and I've been trying to figure out what it's worth....anybody have any idea what a fair price on this would be?
