  1. Just out of curiosity, how much are those different shocks?
  2. I remember seeing that thread! What a cool car you've built there 😎 Good to see that it's going well.
  3. Looked superb regardless. What mods are you running?
  4. Does anyone here own HBD24? Saw it in East Auckland today. It looked great with blackline rear lights and lowered suspension
  5. I'm surprised that this hasn't been sold yet. $7.5k seems like a pretty good price.. is this where 130i market it?
  6. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/885811932517799/?mibextid=nb1MFm3jZYALyyMy Anyone keen for E87 135i?
  7. @MBimmer sounds like you've spent a good money on it. The thing is that there are so many thrashed cheap auto 130is out there, brining the overall price down. My guess is around 9k but happy to be proven wrong.
  8. On a different topic, I noticed that my manual 130i don't have a stop for the clutch pedal so I made one with 10mm thickness. It's a lot nicer to drive now. Well worth mod for manual drivers. (I prototyped with white plastic and later made one out of rubber)
  9. Someone sold 2008 E81 130i auto with 78000km for $7k a couple months ago. I wonder if the new owner is on this forum? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/269550642107010/?mibextid=nb1MFm3jZYALyyMy

    2008 130i Manual

It took me a while to get used to the clutch feel since the biting point felt so high. Then I saw that BMS clutch stop is often regarded as the best $20 ever spent on manual BMWs. The design seemed pretty simple so I decided to make my own. I looked in the footwell and noticed that there is no clutch stop at all. The clutch pedal was just hitting against the carpet behind. I took some measurements of the silver mounting plate, CAD'd up the first prototype with 10mm stop, and 3D printed one(white circle in pic). The difference was more than I anticipated, it just feels much nicer to shift and I don't I have to work as hard since I don't need to literally floor the clutch pedal anymore. Now that the design works, I'll make on out of something more softer. Annnnd yes, I ordered some Msport coloured grill inserts from Temu(NZ Aliexpress) and they fit perfectly I don't know if it's something that's frowned upon but hey, this is my first beemer after all
  11. Found a good review on DIY 130i factory muffler mods including cutaway pics: https://www.babybmw.net/threads/n52-130i-125i-exhaust-mod-diy-with-135i-and-resonator-pics-info-too.127953/ In summary: The N55 box is a definite, proven noise upgrade over N52. The N54 backbox is almost identical to N52 box internally, and it makes little difference to the stock N52 sound. Do not pay N55 money for an N54 part! The N52 resonator is has 20 rows of 5mm round perforations, the N54/N55 (135i) resonators both have only 3 rows, the N54T (1M) resonator is just a boxed-in Y-pipe (i.e. isn't actually a resonator at all).

    2008 130i Manual

I didn't find any oil leaks around the cover gasket but underneath the oil cooler and around vanos solenoids looked pretty wet. I got some OEM seals from Clickable Automotive in Australia. I've been wanting to tackle the vanos seals myself but also worried that I may not be able to put it back together! YouTube videos make it look so much easier but it looked like some people struggled to put the solenoids back in with new seals... 🤔 For the oil filter housing and cooler seals, I'll probably take it to a garage.

    2008 130i Manual

Hi all, Here is my daily that I bought recently. All the horror stories online put me off from owning a beemer initially but I know a guy who would own nothing but a beemer, so I did wonder what the fuss is about. After selling my previous daily, mk5 GTI, I looked for a manual 130i and after weeks of waiting, I picked one up in New Plymouth and drove it back to Auckland. My first impression was that it felt a lot more luxurious than the Golf. The golf was a step up from other Japanese cars I previously owned, but 130i was another step up. Although I'm still getting use to heavy steering and very chunky steering wheel, I'm enjoying its powerful 3L engine which pulls at any rev! Being a 15 year old car, there are some things that need to be looked at, so this post will be my journal of keeping my first beemer on the road. Danny
  15. Looks nice! Good luck with the sale
  16. @Dave_Tee I see that the listing is now expired. Did you end up buying it?
  17. I wonder what the bottom dollar is, now that the owner is going overseas. Hope you get a good deal!
  18. Thanks for all the replies! Thanks to @The Bimmer, I tried his blower motor resistor and the blower worked fine. The second hand unit I got must've been faulty as well.
  19. Thanks @F10er I have driven the car for at least 2 hours today and it does seem odd that the battery state of charge is not really going above 50%. I'll try to get the battery health checked. Interestingly the seat heating still works so I'm not sure if this problem is because of ISTA. I will charge the battery overnight and try to register the battery to see if it makes any difference.
  20. @C-130 Hercules that's what I was thinking too. I just wasn't keen to buy a brand new resistor without knowing that that will fix the issue..
  21. Hi all, I'm having an issue with weak AC blower. If I increase the fan speed, it's still very weak. Almost feels like the fan speed control is not doing anything. I tried replacing the blower resistor with a second hand unit but no luck. I've lubricated the blower and it doesn't feel that stiff but still the same. The previous owner did say that the blower stopped working but he cleaned and fixed it. I didn't check if the blower is working in full speed when I bought the car :/ The only other thing that I can think of is that the battery was changed from 70AH to something else 3 years ago but never registered. I think it's 63AH model. I checked Bimmercode but the only options closer to 63AH are 70AH or 60AH AGM. It's currently showing 70AH 49% charge on Bimmerlink. My next step would be to get a second hand blower and see if it does the trick. Did anyone have similar issues before? Thanks in advance for any help! Danny
  22. My AMI Insurance premium was going from 55 a month to 85 a month for my old Golf. I moved to ANZ (Vero) for my 130i
  23. Have you tried BM World?
