This looks like a good deal. What do you good folks think? If I hadn't bought a car not too long ago, I might have considered breaking my budget for this 🤩 Better stop myself looking at more TM ads, just enjoy what I have, and avoid doing something silly 😂. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m135i/listing/3303393974?bof=g40jkYbP

Thank you for the advice Jon. Hope it's not a major thing like you said as I am quite eager to fully discover what the recent Stage 1 tune has done to my ride 😅

So I was driving out the gym parking lot when my car shuddered, stalled and got the following alert. Trasnmission was also stuck in N for a short while. When I restarted the car, the alert disappeared. Does this seem to be a misfire or something else? Will be bringing it to the workshop first thing Monday morning, but would it be safe to drive meanwhile? Thank you guys for any advise/insight.

Would be extra funny if there was a campervan attached to that

Recommendations for a good grooming/detailing place in Auckland

Found this old forum topic so thought to continue here. Anyone used these guys before? Found them off a google search. They'd be a lot more convenient than others as they could work in my office parking lot. https://www.mobilehand.co.nz/mobile-car-valet/ -
I guess these custom tunes are what account for the different BHP and torque numbers quoted by the various service providers. Thank you for this bit of education.

What is the point of contact forms/emails on websites if no one ever responds to them? I shall take my business elsewhere 😤

Hello there, I'm toying around with the idea of treating my f20 to a Stage 1 tune, and possibly a transmission tune. Would it be worthwhile doing either or better to save up for my next bmw :D? Thinking of getting this done at NZ Performance Tuning in Henderson as it's relatively close to my office but am also open to getting this done elsewhere. Thanks in advance for any opinions and suggestions . Edit: Also wondering if re-mapping with a dyno is really necessary due to the difference in cost. For example, ChipTuning NZ ($995 without a dyno), and Torque Performance ($1295 to remap with dyno). I'm assuming since the F20 is a fairly common car then many service providers would already have the re-map files and I could save some money.

"The shadow... coming to a morgue near you soon" 😂 😂 😂 Thank you. This video made my day.

Have your claims with AMI usually been processed fairly quickly? I recently submitted a claim and it took them two weeks to get back to me. Wondering whether this is normal with them or I just had really bad luck. I know it's not the mechanic/panel beater's fault for the delay as they got back to me within a day or two.

I talked to a friend who bought a Hyundai Ionic about 5 years ago. He seems quite happy with it, had no serious faults to fix up, and said he gets 23km / litre fuel use from what google maps says is a combination of highway and very congested city roads (not in NZ). Only minor complaint he has relates to not being able to update the software for his in-car entertainment unit. Hope this helps :p.

I had to google that one

F20 116i or 120i ? post by a Bimmersport Noob

Both my top 2 choices disappeared a week ago Currently have these 120i on my watchlist: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/120i/listing/3343691663?bof=KiVRlVTL https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/120i/listing/3325878267?bof=KiVRlVTL https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/120i/listing/3378925552?bof=KiVRlVTL -
F20 116i or 120i ? post by a Bimmersport Noob

I've found a 125i on TradeMe. What is your opinion at this price level? I'm still more inclined on the 120i due to the price point you mentioned. The 125i advertised pushes the limit of my budget. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/125i/listing/3380926989?bof=CjcuI6pX -
What did you regret about the 120i? I'm thinking about that as my entry point to BMW ownership.

Why do some car sellers on TradeMe like to list 'genuine sale' and 'genuine reason for sale' on their ads? Does that mean it's not genuine otherwise? Or do they expect people to believe it's genuine just because they say so?

F20 116i or 120i ? post by a Bimmersport Noob

Thanks so much for the info. How silly of me I didn't even think about the extra work involved with the remap. Looks like my best bet is the 120i as I don't recall finding any 125i. Let's see whether I can get what I want before the WOF & service on my current car is due in mid /late January. -
Hi ya'll, I was almost set on a 2012 F20 120i for around $13700. Then I did some reading including on an older post here that the ECU on the 116i can be remapped to around 120i levels of performance. What does it matter then which F20 I decide to buy since the 2012 to 2015 cars use the same engine? Or would it be more important to look for a F20 that's specced to how I want it for example with the M-sport trim? Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you.
