  1. Do you have a heated seat switch panel for a E46? Mine has ASC only at the moment. So need one with the two heated seat buttons and asc at minimum. Cheers, Rick.
  2. http://www.gromaudio.com/usb.html Runs USB aswell as IPOD and AUX. I looked at the DICE system aswell, there is a guy in new zealand that sells them, i have his email somewhere and i think he is on the forum.
  3. Then there is no point in removing your sterio to check. It does not have the capability to attach an aux cable. I did allude to this earlier. I have a Grom USB unit installed in my car which i brought off M-Spec on the forums. You can buy these from the states for about 140US. I have a USB and aux cable running from this unit in the boot up to the centre console and am able to use USB to play MP3's or the Aux cable. I'll try remember to take a picture. Its a cheap solution to maintain the factory look. Or if you want to spend the Coin, a Dynavin unit is great (see M-Spec's thread).
  4. There is heaps of info out there - google told me how to get one in mine (2000, e46). If your car is prefacelift then it is highly unlikely unless you have for some reason had a facelift headunit from a car with a build date after 07/2002(?) installed etc. Cant remember exact dates but i found it all on other sites.
  5. I brought two! Although i already have gear, so only saving about $20! But still!
  6. Saw a turbo Silver E30 pulling out of Lunbrook Ave in Blockhouse Bay on Friday night about 7pm. Was heading down towards New Lynn. Sounded really nice, i was just hopping out of my car to go get some beers! Not sure if it was anyone on here...
  7. Need to purchase the switch panel that sits below the air con controls. Mine has ASC switch currently. Need a new one with ASC and the two heated seat switches. Cheers, Rick.
  8. Thanks for your help! Will try find a diagram and check it out.
  9. Hmmm... food for thought. Will try find a wiring diagram maybe...
  10. so after a bit more reading and reviewing cars for sale, im going to assume heating comes standard with all leather seats! More wires! Wil do a write up in case anyone is interested.
  11. So on saturday i went down to cambridge to pick up my latest purchase - a set of E46 Black electric leather seats for my sedan. I got them for an absolute steal $101! The place where they were purchased from had no idea about them and couldnt tell me anything aside from that they were electric and for a sedan. I turned up on saturday morning and they had been cleaned up (photos on trademe led me to believe they were in very bad shape but turned out to just be dirty) and they are IMMACULATE! So this comes to my problem... i realise i need to wire them in, postive, negative and a wire to the bus for memory, but now im wondering if they might actually be heated too...? If so, i should wire that in aswell, is there any quick way for me to tell if they are heated or not just by looking at them? Distinguishing features? Any help would be greatly appreciated (some pics attached). Thanks, Rick
  12. I went up on the 18th september and came home onthe 25th just as school holidays started. I got 30 minutes on the mountain (ruapehu). Count yourself lucky you got any decent amounts of time.
  13. Problem is i cant find the wind guards here in NZ... i have looked
  14. You mean the boxes that sit on the roof racks?
  15. The difference was about 10% i think. With just the bare racks i lost about 60km's from a 600km tank of gas? So true about the interior. The racks where from trademe, a guy up in whangarei sold them too me for $130 shipped brand new - They are 300+ i think in the shops. The snowboard attachement (carries 4 boards) was $290. Some may say a heavy investment but well worth protecting my interior i think - and saves room for more gear. We managed to fit 3 people, 4 boards, gear for each person for a week, snow gear, and food in the E46 and it was still just as comfortable. To be honest, the pot holes through national park and on the way to Kune are the worst ath the moment! Wow there is one stretch thatis exceptionally bad! I was sure i was going to get a flat, tried to avoid as many as possible. Getting up the mountain was sweet, but we couldnt get chains on the rear as the car was fully loaded the day we went up, hopping out didnt raise it enough. May need to invest in a standard e46 set for the rear to fit chains too?
  16. So i do quite a bit of boarding in the snow season and was getting sick of putting the boards in the boot / backseat. We invested in a set of racks and a board attachement for a recent trip to the snow (bloody storm meant we got no boarding in over 6 days grr). Note it doesnt stay like this when im back in auckland, they come back off for the daily commute . Personally didnt like the look with racks on at first but its starting to grow on me! What are your thoughts..? Bad phone pic i know!
  17. Thats the point it shouldnt have one... Where there is an intersection as shown with no give way sign (there is quite a few around (one right next to my house for instance) most people dont understand that the car stopped in the 'side' road is allowed to go first. Most driver license testers try to trick people on this rule. It is confusing for some =D
  18. Hybrid, can the LCM be recoded for rear LED tail lights also? I had been thinking of replacing mine, but hadnt until i have gotten to the bottom of the whole error issue. I had read that only some of the newer years could be recoded? And not mine, a 2000 e46. Any ideas or knowledge ?

    Opt out

I did it ever since my 600 got stolen! Never again will i have a vehicle reigstered to my actual address. Although this new law and opt-out feature may recitfy this? Time will tell!

    Opt out

re discussion about PO Boxes. Unless you had someone who didnt do thier job at the post office vtnz, all correspondence will be to a PO Box (i.e. poastal address) but all vehicles require a physical address listed (whether it be a buisness / home / or whatever). So having it 'registered' to a PO Box doesnt do much as when you pay the nominal $2.25 fee it prints out both a physical and poastal address for the person applying. Unless things have changed since i worked there, you always do have a physical address on your vehicle. But it seems that if you opt out it solves this problem. Or you could do as i do and have your company address down as your physcial address.
  21. I have a E46 coupe Msport bumper (will upload photo tonight). Is in brilliant condition, just needs one small plastic weld and paint of your colour! Looking to swap for a E46 sedan Msport bumper for a variety of reasons! This will apparently fit a sedan with minor changes and swaps from your origional bumper. Its just not the style im after (missing the black strip over it which the sedan has). Let me know if you have a sedan bumper i could swap with this one....! Get rid of those pesky black strips accros your bumper! =D Cheers, Rick
  22. Interested in purchasing as i was going to get the DICE unit - this could be another alternative. But the dice unit notes taht the text might not display on vehicles manufactured prior to a certain year, i.e. pre 01 etc. Is that the same with Grom...? Like does the headunit need to be text capable? I know mine displays radio station text, but im certain that this is different to the CD or in this case, other text? For ref, my car is a year 2000' 3 series?
