Does anyone know which model E36 these diffs are out of? Im guessing the 318is but not sure. Also what ratios are available and how difficult are they to get hold of and is the 168mm diff the small case diff?

I built a 2.7 last year with E36 320 injectors...they are slightly higher flow than E30 325 with better spray pattern with the 4 pintles and worked well. Also tried some 19lb yellow mustang injectors off ebay and they worked good too..but to get power out of strokers you got to upgrade the cam, dial in, then remap Building a 2.8 soon based around a near new 288 schrick I managed to procure..

Further investigation reveal facts from SA import handbook from 1989 model I have as 9.4:1 engine coded 25 6E 2. Can anyone else add there wisdom?

Been researching this and come to the conclusion without comparing pistons and stripping the engines etc is Blocks marked 25 6E 1 or 2 are 9.7:1 CR and found in pre facelift, pre cat Euro's and SA imports Blocks marked 25 6K 1 or 2 are 8.8:1 CR and are the Catalytic preped engines as found in Jap imports and US spec motors. ??

Probably have one at home. Not back for 10 days but you should fit a new one. Try Euro Italian for a better price
