Jesus Christ. That thing is filthy! Look at the crap all over the bumpers.. Mad photo's, is that you in there rescuing your teddy-bears?

Looks sharp and clean. Off the scale wank-factor with the genuine OG BMW leather cleaner - Is there enough in that little bottle to do all your leather? lol! I was at McMillans months ago and they had all that on special. Priced a lot less than some bottle I bought to do my couch, I felt so burned..

An e36? No great loss then.. So, dumbass, how did you manage all that at 45K? Chances are you probably won't be scrambling around on the ceiling of your car, at the bottom of a hill, after stacking into a concrete wall again anytime soon I imagine. Human nature to slip up anyway, that's what accidents are generally. Thankfully the majority of us get to walk away and laugh it off and have the sense of recollection to not do the same again. You can only make things so safe but in the end it boils down to human involvement and the dumbfu@#ery (intentional or not) we're prone too now and then. It only really goes all wrong when we drift across the center lane, cycle into the path of trucks, or leap out of hot air balloons or suchlike when the odds really are stacked against us. Falling off the road or being T-boned by a speeding out of control cement truck isn't something anyone considers before they reverse out their driveway in the morning. I imagine most of us have driven enough FWD, RWD, nice cars, sh!t cars to know we're only capable of controlling what we're in control of. And we know if we screw up there's consequences. Modern red Volvo, looks as safe as anything else to me.

They weren't there long. Prefer to have them in my wheel arches really. I looked on trademe already (first call actually). Id be lucky and amazed if anyone in NZ actually stocks them. I also messaged roo who has the same dilemma with type 3 monoblocks. He's already approached the local hopefuls with no luck either.

Aftermarket / Performance M60B40 ECU chipping.

Nope. Life, phone and power bills take priority now unfortunately. I bought a few other things I don't need either recently. Works slowed up a little too so less disposable income. Ill revisit it at the end of august. -
I believe so yes. I trieda 74mm hub ring on it and its looser than a brazillian hooker on football world cup final night. Theres a few references around the net regarding acs type 3 racing wheels and cb of 82mm. Interestingly I found bbs hub rings on ebay specifically for fitting 82mm center bore for some of their wheels down to 72.5-6mm bmw fitment. The options on ebay suggest the size I require for these arent that much a rarity and anodized ali ones with retaining circlips will set me back around $60-$65. I was just trying my luck locally before having to wait. The commonality between the acs "racing" and the discovery of the bbs center bore of 82mm lead me to think of some center locking fitment for dedicated track use. I dont know that though, just guessing. The wheels have a build date of 1999 and also the 9.5" pair are et15 which falls outside the acs spec of et21 for this wheel. The wheels are genuine Schnitzer as far as I can tell. They're stamped with ronal and acs logos etc.

Ebay.uk should throw something up.

Whats clear is bmw didn't follow the popular art/design movement at the time. It took until the late 70's to lose the serif typeface and fall into the timeless icon it is now. Odd considering the Bauhaus had influence over so much German design after WW1.

Yah I got a few Ali sets a couple months ago off ebay for my type 2's. I should have done some more thorough investigation, I've nice shiny wheels and new tyres sitting here with nowhere to go, dammit! I just assumed they were e39 fitment of 74.yada yada. I can't actually find any details on why they are 82mm CB. I'm guessing at maybe some center lock arrangement?

How long did you wait before you blurted that one out to the Mrs?
-
Cheers, I'll give them a ring tomorrow. Prefer ali but will take what I can.

LOL @ "throw yourself off the road at 60kph" You'd have to be inattentive to the point of being negligent, or deserving of being thrown off the road at 60KPH if it ever actually happened. Too funny.

Saw those too. Good sale price for a bloody hoody. $89 lol!

82mm - 72.6mm Fitting T3 Schnitzers. If anyone has a set or might know someone local? Bit of an odd one probably I know, figured I'd ask before committing to something on the opposite side of the planet. I've done a bit of research and that's apparently the CB of 2 piece 'racing' Schnitzers. I can't fit the bloody calipers in there without chopping a bit off which I'm reluctant to do, looks about right though from eyeing it up crooked.. If anyone else knows any better though? Ta.

I'm sure there was a whole V8 e28 for $1200 on that facebook BMW parts page the other day - Including coilovers.

Headers would be nice. Seen the price though? The only rhd ones ive found are out of Australia for 2k. I havent investigated local fabrication but I imagine the price will be thereabouts +. I also assume lhd will be no good because something will be in the way. Fwiw my 3" exhaust sounds like a subaru. New from previous owner though so im not touching it.

This looks a good buy for 2K. Is there anything obvious that needs doing?

Seems a worthwhile project to tinker with and give yourself a better understanding. I don't have any experience bolting superchargers to anything but being the resourceful type (ie: cheap) I've had bits and pieces fab'd up from templates I've made for multiple other uses - That part can't be too hard, grab your ruler and drill and fab up something sketchy that'll have it sitting in the right place. I've used odd scrap laying around in the past - bits of 4-5mm acrylic/polycarb, Plywood, thin gauge steel, nuts/bolts/washers to get things mounted right, and taken all measurements from my rudimentary mount and designed in Adobe Illustrator for laser cutting/water cutting in ali/plywood or whatever I'd needed. The clutched drive sounds interesting. I've always been fond of that Scene in MadMax when Gibson pulls the trigger on the B&M shifter to engage the charger on the XB Interceptor..

6K for a new trans or 5.5K for a rebuild? If I was spending enough to buy X2 running/legal e38's I'd just throw the extra $500 at the brand new one.

700-800K into commercial property in the city here, another 200K fitting out for living/apartment. 1980's Porsche 930 Mid 1990's MottoGuzziSport/ Daytona 3 mil banked, keep the rest around to flitter away as I see fit.
-
Ill offer you these when im done with them then. 18 x 9.5 / 8.5 et15. I want a bit more center and polished.
-
You can have mine if you trade it for an e36 20.5mm boss.

I just got one of these. Saved my ass on the way home, got around 200 meters warning for a cop hiding on the northwestern with what ill assume was a handheld laser. So just set K, Ka, laser and all the rest can stay off? And the "K" will go off a lot around town? Mways are fine though? Ta.

Just to be clear, there's X4 clutches packed in there?
