Hi guys, I'm after an e46 (2001) Auto shift boot and handbrake boot, including the base with the clips on it in tact. If anyone has a set please let me know if you're willing to part with them for a fair price.

Yeah that was one of my faves on the day, got talking to the guys who built it, really nice and keen to chat about the build and what they hope to do going forward with the car.

Hey guys, I went to the festival of motor racing Saturday at Hampton Downs. It was a great day with loads of cars from all manufacturers Including 3 Ferrari formula one cars and a locally built BMW M8 replica, the only other one is in a Museum in Germany Check out my pics over on Flickr, http://www.flickr.com/photos/image_hunter/sets/72157639894987156/ Teasers

hi guys, as some of you would have seen in the showroom, i recently updated my suspension to H&R sports springs with Koni yellow shocks. the setup is great rides nice handles bumps well, except when going in driveways as of last week. the high side (the side to make contact with the curb last), pops when it makes contact with the driveway curb. when the springs were installed, rubber sleeves were used over the coils to prevent noise from the progressive coils touching as some rubbing was felt on test drive. This was recommended by Keith at Stocks and my local BMW shop did the install so feel confident in this solution, is it possible the sleeves could have moved? has anyone experienced this type of thing before, and could it be anything other than noisy springs? I had the shop check all the end links, sway bars and associated bushings when installing to make sure they were all ok. Thanks in advance

Wheels were 900USD plus sea shipping via mainfreight, which i sorted out myself, by sea to ensure all the necessary customs work was taken care of to avoid unforeseen hold ups. Tires are Nexen nfera su1, hadn't had much experience with these but they are well reviewed and I am very impressed with their grip, noise level and wet performance. Sizes are 255/35/18 and 225/40/18

Shocks are original OEM sports, as are springs. I suspect it's age and normal wear and tear, as they simply do not feel the same as when i bought the car. Tyres are goodyear eagle F1 and are less than a year old, pressures are fine and checked regularly. I have investigated options all over the market here in NZ and internationally. As I said there are a lot of options, and lots of opinions. I called Stocks today they have some vogtlands just in that will lower the car similar to H&R but without the rake towards the rear, which is what I want, and think I will pair them up with Koni Str.t shocks (once they are back in stock)

I have a 2001 BMW 320i Sedan automatic, sports model, equipped with the OEM msport suspension, after 122,000 kms its feeling a little tired. I find the current damper rates ok if a little harsh at times (could be age related), it could be a touch more compliant at lower speeds. I don't mind going a little bit lower on the (factory 17â€) wheels, either. I have been looking at some of the various options online and decided i dont really want to go the full on coil over route and i simply don't need that amount of adjustability. I'm thinking of either of the HR cup kits, sport vs touring. has anyone had experience with these kits and can offer advice? I also looked at KW suspension but looks like it's change to Weitec made by KW for the NZ market, and cant find any solid info on hows these set ups compare to each other. Cheers Ben

Cool, thanks mate, so no to little rubbing im guessing?I don't want any rubbing but want a nice concave wheel. thinking about APEX Arc 8s

Hey guys, fairly new to the wheel and offset topics, would a 18 x 9.5 et35 rear fit my e46 sedan without rubbing? Cheers

yes, a 320 M Sport, that being 320i with the M Sports package.

Hi guys Time for a change , recent house moves mean my baby has to either be sold or sleep outside. the decision has been made to down size; the car has been very well looked after and will be sad to see her go. http://www.trademe.co.nz/MyTradeMe/Sell/Current.aspx thanks Ben

Yep adjust works fine, noise occurs at all angles and lengths of adjustment. Dealer i took it to described symptoms of issue as 'normal' which I do not agree with, no car should have a noisey wobbley steering mechanism. Might be good idea to visit a wreckers yard to suss out an upper column section with no play. Ben intersted to hear if any other E46 owners have experienced this.

hey guys hoping for some advice or someone else's previous experience and solution. I have an 2001 e46 sedan, had recently replaced the following due to required maintenance; front control arms and bushings, new steering rack, lower steering coupling (guibo joint) however, my steering wheel still makes a donk, donk, donk, noise when turing it with the ignition on or off, somethnig is loose in there and not sure what. mechanic checked top universal joint and says its tight. the car glides really nicely with all the new bits up front but over harsh bumps the wheel or column seems to move and make noises, very annoying and not the quality driving experience i have become accustomed to with the BMW last weekend i removed the steering column surround, behind the wheel, and could move the inner coulmn, around quite freely I had my hand on the outer steering shaft while doing this so i know its not the whole shaft / coulmn moving about. has anyone else experienced this? and how was it resolved? i've read various posts on other forums but nothing conclusive, nor on you tube. any help would be appreciated as its really annoying! maybe replacing the steering shaft would be the solution?

Hi Guys my brakes are squeaking terribly all the time, think it may be time for pad replacement, is OEM best or is there a good after market option that will give me better performance for not too much extra cash, and dust etc? cheers Ben
-
yeah i figure that will be the case, once i get more used to it, i expected a change in dynamics etc. It still seems like it could be flatter, did you end up stiffening the roll of the car? i have found (i think) some whiteline options that will fit. But don't want to make the car too "nervous" either. However, a slight amount of easily accessible over steer is nice
