  1. Have a look on the link above, think it's one disc and 2 bolts to be made, no issues with clearance.
  2. I had a lengthy drive in that model Merc 2 weeks ago. For stealth fun in a big car, it was fantastic. The Alpina would have to be something special to be better, which according to that boring narrator, it wasn't, I'll have the Merc please.
  3. It's probably easy to slag people for washing their cars when you have a loaner from various manufacturers, with a free tank of gas and never have to wash it before returning.
  4. $1250 for a Z3 rack was my best quote, or $5,600 for a new one. . . . .
  5. Strangely back for sale at the same place after being sold "no reserve". Does strat1 work there or something?
  6. Cool. I'm all for increasing E30 values and I happen to think the M3 convertible looks quite good, having seen this and the one in Total BMW 2-3 years ago. Very surprised by the price though, but that's the beauty of an open market.
  7. Warlocks in Akld (if they are still going) have it.
  8. Thanks guys. The bush on the right hand side of the rack is stuffed and flogging out the brake disc as it moves. Either a recon for the rack, or a new ( 2nd hand) rack. Wil prob try the E36 route by the look of it.
  9. Do I remember reading somewhere that this is an easy swap and gives a faster steering rack/ratio than standard? Anyone done it? Does an M325i have a faster rack than standard (thought I read this somewhere)? Any ideas on prices for an E30 or E36 rack? You can probably see where I'm going with this.
  10. I've seen it in the flesh, both before and after and it's a truely lovely car, but in my opinion, not worth anywhere near $100k, maybe $65k? As I said, each to their own.
  11. Didn't he pay about $27-29k plus resto costs? Had about 192km on the clock? I can't see anywhere near $100k, but each to their own.
  12. Thanks Jochen, I'll try that.
  13. Not really, which means no I guess. I actually think it's a good buy and do want another car, but 3 Bimmers is probably too many, will stick with 2 and something else.
  14. To think I offered $15k plus last year and he wouldn't even return a call.
  15. Come on guys, give the dude some credit, he's managed to fit 6 cylinder pistons and cams to a four, must be some sort of genius.
  16. Why is the hood on the E30 "beyond replacing"?
  17. I've seen the car. At least one or two wheels are toast, the suspension is stuffed, the body/chassis is bent. The reason it went off the road is that if you can't afford to make the repayments, you don't have the money for new tyres. Then you give it to your wife to drive in the rain and she stuffs it into a motorway barrier. Engine is probably good and the interior is nice, but that's about all. Also, it's been sitting for about 5-6 months. Still worth a punt at the right price though.
  18. This happened to a mate at BP Dairy Flat on the m'way north. They sent a letter saying he'd driven off without paying $71 or so. He produced a receipt for $87 same day and time. I told him to ask for a refund, as they'd obviously overcharged. Show them the bank statement and tell them to get lost.
  19. There's at least one black one here already, saw it in Parnell on D plates 2 weeks ago. Unofficial import at a guess.
  20. There is a second hand specialist, Maurice Thompson?? I think motors, or The Italian Job I think does parts, or always on TM.
  21. From what I've heard from a client, 280 km is normal for a tank. I thought 21km/100 was bad.
  22. Maybe I'll take it somewhere. To be honest, it doesn't seem that loud, doesn't distort, just cuts out like a cd does when it skips. Maybe I'm jst too used to the Lexus stereo and expecting too much.
  23. We have a completely standard Bm stereo in our M325i, 88, NZ New. It has an amp to power the rear speakers, and two ways in the front, with the separate tweeters in the door pods. Problem. Turn it up and when it gets loud, it cuts out, just for a second or so, then straight back in. Turn it down a notch or so, no problem. Any ideas?
  24. From memory, $735 +GST from McMillans.
  25. Looks stunning. He says Anthracite silver, but in those photos it looks the same as ours, Delphin Grey. Sure he has it right, so must be the photos.
