+2!! Just can't think of anything else to say!

If they gave me 2 grand I'd take it.

Try balancing that!

Not my kinda thing either.

Hows the size of that intercooler on the black m3!!! Very nice wheels, classics never die.

BMWorkshop suggested a similar price of around $500 to fix, parts & labour.
-
Looks like a hell of a rush though. Doubt you'd see me doing it, imagine the hill you'd have to climb to get there!
-
I bled mine myself, but only to replace existing fluid ie. no air in the system. Not sure if that makes a difference?
-
We have the exact same problem with our E46 328. Oil warning comes back on for 30 secs-1 min after it goes out after start up. BMWorkshop tells us its a common fault. Were ignoring it for the moment.

You guys outta post more often. Would be interesting to hear what you have to say from the other side of the fence, as it were.

Lightened flywheel is not an engine out job and does not involve machining as the standard dualmass piece of sh*t cannot be lightened. You'll need either an aftermarket flywheel/clutch kit or cobble one together using an m20 flywheel and heavy duty e30 clucth. If the diff has internals the same sizing as the common medium case (type 188) bmw diffs then a gear set from either an e30 m325 (3.46 or 3.64 a bit high maybe) or a 3lt e36 m3 (3.23??) shgould fit inside the housing. Recommended to have it set up by a pro. A shorter diff increases torque to the wheels. A nice set of free flowing headers from an e36 m3 will help a lot too, If they fit the e46 head!!!
-
Your opening a can of worms if you start playing with the intake manifold on an e46. The e46 dosn't suffer as much in the top end as the e46 anyway. If it was me I'd be looking at a lightened flywheel and a shorter diff ratio. We have both the e36&e46 328s in manual and with these two mods the e36 would eat the e46.

I might be convinced for around the mid teens.

Chuck a bunch of Tin balls in a plastic bag and run fuel through it! Cheaper than 250

What are you willing to spend?

People have been having their DME's tuned on the dyno by Gavin Bellers up here in Aux. OBD11, e46, even e92 m3 by the sounds of it so I guess you could have him tune specifically for you. Hi Velocity motorsport I think the companys called.

"The load into the shock tower is only shock absorber loading". Only vertical loading. The lateral loadings are tranferred via the subframe into the floor area of the boot, not the shock towers.
-
If a rear strut brace only braces the shock towers, how can strengthen anything given there are only vertical loads being transferred.

Is cruise control the only issue? As in, if you dont have cruise you dont need to worry?

Hope you can stick around Kerry.
