Welcome to the forums The car doesn't appear to be an M-Spec model. Just a normal E36 with ACS wheels and the seats wouldn't be from the factory, they are vader seats from an M3. It also looks to be slightly lowered so maybe you should check with the owner as that may affect the warranty.

That's a pretty generous budget. E34 M5 and E36 M3 easily, and close to E39 M5 and E46 M3 territory

Probably should buy a new one - did the old one shear from overtorquing? If so get yourself a torque wrench, gives you that much more peace of mind.

I see. You have a rather nice looking garage then About painting the mirrors, I got quoted by a good shop at $180 for the pair. But a friend paid $60 at some place that did it for cash... still looked alright, so yeah quite a large variation. $180 sounds pretty steep though so I'd say $60 for one side sounds reasonable? Prices in Palmy might be different too.

There are a lot of people calling their cars ACS when all they have is a few ACS parts on it, some even when they have none! Not saying that this definitely is one of those, but the only things ACS are the wheels, spoiler (looks like it anyway, need to post up more angles to confirm), and striping. It really depends on how you define an 'ACS car'. Have a look on the ACS site to see what their cars look like.

Congrats, looks like a very fun car - putting the new one in front of the old provides a stark contrast of the old design vs the new design, and the colours magnify the difference!

Shouldn't be too bad to repair, but if you wanted a replacement one I'd imagine secondhand ones are hard to get.
