^ I'd be happy to help attach the plate to the car and sit in the back seat. Must be exciting having your car arrive soon!

Hahaha NZ biggest wheel? Thanks for sharing mate!
-
The price sounds reasonable. Could probably remove and reinstall the bootlid yourself pretty easily and save the $50 +GST.
-
Wow your car is 367,000kms? It looks like it's only done ~100,000!

Awesome wheels, but too bad they will only fit 5 series.

I would pay extra for an NZ New car - but I have always wondered what sure of premium it should command over an import. At the end of the day, being in NZ just gives you the peace of mind that it usually has some sort of service history by shops that you have heard of, and the odometer is not likely to have been tampered with. Condition-wise though, I read somewhere that a Japanese import will be in better condition than an NZ New car. I'm thinking... there's more acid rain in Japan so that's bad for the paint, and a lot of idling, but low KMs. On the other hand, NZ New cars generally have a lot of KMs due to the long open roads and harsher sun. Thoughts on this?

Holy cow. Who needs a bed when you can sleep on the front splitter?

Loving the 'Purple People Eater' mate... or shall we say Barney? J/ks It looks tough, and the interior looks very tidy too.

Grant is this the same place I went to last time? If so that sounds pretty good! Double garage
-
Hey Brett, good choice with the new ride height, it's sitting very nicely
-
Welcome Darren, your car looks beautiful!
-
Sounds good, thanks for that!

Pretty mean, like it's staring you down from the front. Looks kind of like a Murano from the rear in the blurry pics though.

Absolutely gorgeous car mate. Great choice of wheels and the engine bay is so tidy! Need to take it on a photoshoot Got any interior pictures?

I have a friend in Alpha as well. It's quite decent and his unit has a balcony. If you're interested I'll ask him how much he's paying.

If you live in Parnell you can catch the Link into the city. Unfortunately I don't have any knowledge on house rent prices but if you are wondering about apartment rental costs in the city, I can ask around. Carparks in the heart of the city go for ~$60 a week.

Is this green one the one sold by 'adservices'? Thought it looked quite nice in photos, with the smell comment I'm now worried about buying a car sight unseen now! I am also wondering about the warranty thing - am also searching for a car now and I thought you could only get a mechanical warranty if you bought it off a dealer. If you manage to get one Martyn please let me know.

To the guys who have gotten your cars sent up, did they deliver it to your door or did you pick it up from the depot? I see Auto Movements says something about 'door to door' but I am guessing it will be extra. Btw Chris - I got quoted $280 + GST for Auto Movements Wellington to Auckland, was your price from a while back?

Yup the valve is a one-way valve, and has been the culprit in many instances where the washing system doesn't work. I believe it blocks up. I'm not sure if you can clean it, but what some others have done is just buy a new one from the dealer, apparently it's not expensive.

What annoys me is when people list a car with no pictures, and barely any info, and expect to sell it at a price other than $1 reserve. And like you said, when a great description has been written by the seller and someone comes along and doesn't even bother reading it before asking questions. Also think some people should learn to take better pictures of their items (ie: taking a picture of tyre treads up close but the camera focuses on the wall behind instead) but I concede that it's reasonable that the older people may not be as good at handling digital cameras. The question thing does annoy me a little sometimes, but at the end of the day, questions asked by people comes with selling anything - I feel bad for asking sometimes, but if I think about it, hey I'm buying your stuff aren't I? For example if I'm shopping around for a TV I would ask questions on all the ones that I would potentially buy. I could ask questions on 10 auctions, but I'd only bid on one. Works the other way round - lots of people have asked me questions and I answer to the best of my ability but I don't really expect them to bid. Unless you were referring to people who don't have any intention whatsoever to buy the item, then I agree that it's just wasting the seller's time. Btw I always thought saying 'cash' was valid, because I take that to mean they will pay the full amount upfront in cash when they collect the item, and not pay in parts, etc. So it can be an incentive for the seller. It's pretty much already implied that the winner of the auction will do so, but it's worth saying it - some sellers place extra value on it. That deserves a thread of its own, for your ISP!

Congrats on the purchase. The car looks nice - will definitely be nice to have the nav going. Going to be exciting putting in all the mods Good point about the M-Parallels... did you say they were actually meant for an E39? Would be a nice addition to this car if so.

Welcome! Are you from Auckland? I have a feeling I've seen your car before. It's looking good, personally not a fan of chrome but it suits that style of wheel and the car. Nice looking front bumper too. If you haven't already, check out www.e46fanatics.com.

Ah right. Forgot about that!

Wreckers for the bars unless you want to pay for new ones at the dealer, shocks/springs - I'd go aftermarket. Quite sure shocks shouldn't affect the ride height, just the dampening. Brembo OEM discs should not make a difference at all, they are just made to OEM spec so should be the same as any OE BMW items. I had PBR (Axxis) Ultimate pads and new OEM Brembo discs and it felt pretty much the same as OEM. Perhaps the drum to disc brake conversion will give you better braking, but I'm wondering if it would be noticeable since most of the braking is done by the front brakes.

I know! Probably the nicest modded E46 M3 around IMO - the owner has posted those pictures on various forums before and I believe was featured in a magazine. I'm surprised to see it's for sale.
