    HB Tony!!

Happy Birthday Tony, have a good one!
  2. If you ever drive her up to Auckland, let us know! Yes would be nice to see the dyno chart.

Andy, if you clean the OEM ellipsoids which get a little cloudy/dusty looking with time they can look newer (see here http://www.bimmerzone.com/articles_lenses.htm), also I'd expect the light pattern from the OEM ones to be superior to the aftermarket. I understand what you mean about the corners not matching the headlights, you could get the fully clear aftermarket corners which will match better. Or go smoked OEM clear corners which will look great IMO! Either way, if Sharon likes them that's good because as you say it'll help with the modding budget

Fixed Dragon? Maybe the next time I'm working on the car! Edit: Just saw your one Andrew, that's awesome LOL.

    Cheers Braeden!

    Best picture ever!

Retrofit for the E36 Ashkan? I think the cluster will cost at least the price of an E36. First pic cracked me up, cheeeeesy!

Nice work with the colour coding Andy, the car looks newer now. Really don't like those lights but to each their own.
  9. Glad to hear the good news Monsta. Looks like you're buying the car!
  10. Smoked lights, black CSL wheels with time attack rings, slight drop, de-chromed trim (shadowline?).

    DRAGONS

    Hahaha, let's see more dragons
  12. IMHO, at $13,000 it is overvalued. Are you still planning to get the car checked at a specialist or the dealer? Still worth it for the peace of mind, and just in case the rattle is something else that may cost more? It's silly that AA doesn't know where the proper jacking point is. Good that they are getting it fixed though. Btw, the car does not actually have sideskirts, those are just the rocker panels under the sideskirts.

    HB Paul

    Happy Birthday Paul!
  14. Crappier tyres = less grip = spinning the tyres more = impressing people because they'll think you've got MAD POWA?
  15. Braeden, that would suit you - your other side should be Hella if it's OEM, later cars may use ZKW which was also OEM. Comes with bracket too... might want to check if any part of your bumper ripped off though, hopefully the bracket took all the damage.
  16. That's not necessarily a bad thing...

    Super DIY weekend

Nice work Mark, it's always satisfying sorting out all the little problems!
  18. Welcome mate, your car is one of the nicest E36s I have seen around, just saw it a few days back.
  19. I agree that in the end it's your own decision, but we are a car club and all the other members are trying to do is show the (generally younger) members the light, so to speak. Stay safe guys and don't let your mods compromise the driving machine your car was built to be, just for the sake of looks.
  20. Welcome, car looks nice and I fully agree on the corners!
  21. Yup it was a lady driving it, saw it on the way to Mission Bay from the city.
  22. Saw your car on the road today Cain, it's looking good, caught my eye coming the opposite way and recognised the plate!
  23. Seen a few around, not sure if the black one you saw was on TradeMe awhile back? I think there's at least one Dakar Yellow one on TradeMe. A fellow member used to own a Byzanz one and another still has a Violet one. Estoril Blue E36 M3 Sedan? If so...
  24. By temp gauge you mean the OBC right? (Same unit above the sunglass holder as the clock) If so the display going bad is common on the E36s. Power steering hose, I have heard it is common to have a slight weep on the E36s, but I'm not sure how bad this one is. Air-cond belt - not costly to fix? Oil seepage - may be valve cover gasket needing changing? Timing chain rattle - VANOS 'pebbles in a can' rattle? Common as well. As long as it still works, most people ignore it. Brake pedal - no idea. Dust boot on front shock - sounds like a small issue, but would check if it has affected the shock. If you are really keen on this car, or if you are going to look at more E36s, I suggest you bring it to a BMW specialist. They will be able to tell you what is a common issue and how much it will cost to fix, etc. Glenn from Botany Motorworx is a sponsor of our forum and he will sort you out, he does pre-purchase inspections. His nickname on here is 'botanymotorworx' and other details are on http://www.botanymotorworx.co.nz/ Good luck.
