  1. it definately cant be the vanos. car will keep going even if the vanos is faulty. Had the issue with it on the e30 M50 and the did the vanos repair kit and that unleashed more power. if you get a key or screw driver and place it on the vanos unit and put your ear on it, you can hear a vibrating sound..that when u know its out..
  2. nice gear the AC..dont see many around.
  3. nice buy! sold mine for 1500 but it was mint!
  4. I can get you these prices for - they're more or less OEM parts. German (Lucas) Brake Pads - $60 German (Lemforder) Front Rotor - $90 each Does not include shipping...dont think they'll be too expensive. cheers
  5. dont forget the brake sensor module too! give me your vin number and let me see if i can get some cheaper oem ones that you've been quoted.
  6. are u guys a bmw workshop? where at?

  9. sounds like the one i spotted at Showcars..heaps of beemers and porsches there
  10. LOL!!! i think he meant BMW Magazines!
  11. depends on where the car is from as well..some countries use GM boxes, some lucky ones get the ZF.. most earliers series have the ZH5hp. Its a whole load of crap when they tell me its life time fluid. change it every 70k or so...am hunting a good place to do mine. Usually a ZF 5hp boxes take up to 9litres. Fill it through the drain hole.
  12. hasn't got a dipstick. filter is inside the oil pan. should use dextron 3

  14. a chip wont do shite for a beemer...minimal gains for what you pay for it..
  15. i've got some brand new inner and outer ball joints, Front Lower Arm Bush ,if you're interested..much much cheaper than you could get outside and they're original stuff... mine failed too, bought them all and realised it was covered under warranty..so its just sitting at home..

rubber strips for an e38 aren't cheap too..esp if u're going to get it from TM
  17. 7gs..stick to an e30. If you're looking at an e36, its going to or can be costly to run, esp when they're over 10+ years. Ppl here mention buying an e36 6 cyclinder and esp 325i, it can guzzle up a lot of fuel..try on average 14-18L per 100kMS. certain Parts can be quite expensive, and some cheap. Front wheel bearings are about 28-350 each brand new, if you think you could cope with regular maintenance like this, then go for it.. if you have 7gs and thats it, beaware!
  18. spraying it with Dupont paint? that's good stuff! All beemers are painted with Dupont from the factory..
  19. you've removed it? what exhaust system are you running now>?
