Getting a vodafone sim card to work in a 1998 740i
Hi-Tek replied to Hi-Tek's topic in Electrical system
Hi jochen, apparently he's been to vodafone and also to Team McMillan and asked there for the larger sim card. Vodafone told him to go and see BMW and BMW and told him to go and see Vodafone -
Hi guys, I'm trying to help one of the old fellas out at work. He's not long owned a 1998 740i and he's trying to be able use his in car phone. The sim card slot in the dash (stereo) is a large credit card style thing which won't take the small vodafone sim card. With this new law change, he's obviously trying to get the built in phone function to work in his car. Is there some adapter he car use to get this to work? (excuse my vagueness, I've not actually looked at his car, I'm just interpreting what his has told me) Cheers, Ollie.

Did you look at the photo in the add Dylan? What type of engine is that mate?

One spot left at this trackday guys. http://www.gpforums.co.nz/thread/365962/?s=

So E30 M3, E46 M3 CSL, or cool race car then?
-
Too old and unreliable. If we were to go Lancia, it would be an Evo 2 LHD.

^ Good point. I like the idea of it being a bit of a project also, kind of being able to personalising it myself. A bit like buying a new mattress instead of a second hand one

Hmmmmm, sh*t add I know but what about the car? Subaru WRX STi RA Spec C 2003 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-251444151.htm

Hmmmm, The Skyline would be fine in the Targa, we would just have to go through all the paperwork of trying to register it as a 'Special Interest Vehicle'. All you need for the Targa is a road legal car right? (plus cage etc etc) Let's ignore Rally from the equation as everyone seems to have jumped on that point. If we were going to do rally stuff it would be probably only be 1% of the events etc. I guess to a point we are looking for something a little different, that will make a mean trackday weapon. Open days at Hampton, Pukekohe and Taupo is where the car we get will spend 95% of its time.

Hi guys, Myself and a mate (savant), are looking at buying a trackcar. Not for road driving, but soley for the circuit and hopefully one day do the Targa, potentially even looking at doing some gravel stuff one day Were pretty much focused on a car that is 4WD and has a hearty turbo. We've sort of allowed $30,000 for the initial outlay to get it to the 'take it out for a blast on the track stage' We'd be looking to get a full cage fitted, strip out the interior, 2 x race seats and 2x harnesses. Obviously there'll be ongoing costs, maintenance etc which we're aware of. Here's two cars that were flying down to Christchurch to look at this Wednesday Nissan Skyline R32 GTR race car http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=250734035 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR fairly modified http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=250277525 2001 WRX STI RA rally car http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=250569630 2001 Mitsubishi Evolution 7 RS http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=249868780 Subaru WRX STi RA Spec C 2003 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-251444151.htm ^ Worst add ever, but that car? We've even gone as far as talking seriously with this guy in the U.K Ford Escort Cosworth RS (Race/rally) http://pistonheads.com/sales/1278810.htm What are your thoughts and why? I've owned a Sierra Cosworth RS and currently own an E30 M3 (see my signature) which I will be selling as I want a dedicated track car and don't really want something that is road legal. Cheers, Ollie

Nice pics mate, that Subaru Justy is f******* nuts
-
Did anyone go along and see what it sold for?
-
Gerry still has the original exhaust. I think the mods done too it are very fitting and only enhance the car. Shame about only having the S52 engine and the colour.
-
Make a post there showing your interest Apex, spaces are limited but a few people have pulled out. Get in quick if you're keen.

That intercooler hanging off the front is way sh*t.
-
No, it's been on Trademe for quite a few months now. Those wheels are shocking, appears to be a nice car otherwise.

Hmmmm, sounds like a good deal. Prime will be replaying it, in one weeks time :/ Might have to venture outside and find a pub in Ponsonby to watch it.

Anyone know when/if there will be delayed coverage on poor dog tv, ie Prime or TV3?
