what kinda pad size do you end up running? i may have a set of suitabel lockheed (AP) 4 pots to move on fairly cheaply...... probably a tad small 'actual size' scan of a pad or basic dimension would tell me....

send it back, full refund, maybe not the freight though, is what should be expected.. surcharge perhaps is if it's an exchange unit? but then you get that refunded/only get charged that if you don't return the 'core' (your old unit) can't see why they would do that with cylinder heads anyways.

yes, but you'll know within a few minute of startup whther it's gonna be anygood.... pretty much. run it for an hour or so, not just idlign and revving, but loading it etc, check compressions etc etc, by then all smoke should have resided (after oily bores, will coke up exhaust a bit, so will take a feww min to burn away...) what's the price of a "2nd hand" engine for arguements sake???

get a written warranty, however, you'd be extremely lucky for it to cover any labour incurred in the installation/removal of a faulty unit. other than that I'd say go for it, if it's been stored so meticulously then there *shouldn't* be any issues. just do cambelt, rocker cover gaskets, crank seals, cambelt etc. they've prolly gone hard and will start leaking fairly smartly. brent would no doubt have a suitable ecu and afm to cover you, although a link or similar may be the go?
