A neighbour of mine has had a 4.4i for six years- was one of the first in the country, done about 120,000 km now with no major troubles. Don't live inner city so consumption is better than average, depends where you do the bulk of your driving. Still looks good, too, seven years after they came out. New X5 will have a hard act to follow!

Trust me to miss all that! It was raining a killer storm when i saw it though.

My brother listed an AW11 parts car on Trademe, with "Message me and I will start an auction for individual parts" written on the ad- Trademe pulled it and asked him to 'start an individual auction for each and every part you wish to sell". A bit bully-boy, must be the Aussie owners.

Hey all, saw a metallic grey 1985 318i Auto 2 door for sale on the side of Randwick Rd in Moera, Lower Hutt, yesterday- had wof and rego till january, only 1250 bucks... best bit was it has a full Mtech 1 kit and boot spoiler, all undamaged, even with the pinstriping and foglamps intact. the body itself wasn't too bad aside from a small dent in the left rear wing. There were covers on the seats, but there also appeared to be Motorsport seats underneath, judging by the side bolstering. Anyway, it looked like a good buy, but I am overcommitted- so here's the number: 021336667 If I go past it again, I'll try and get some pics. Will

Yea, pretty sure the extreme liberal art types in Wellington like to burn cars as a sacrifice to their earth-mother goddess. Couldn't see something that cool happening down these ways unfortunately. Will be making a pilgrimage north, the Art Cars feature on my garage walls

Policeman at scene: "Can you spell that name for me again?"

My 15 year old brother, a fine imparter of wisdom, had something to say about 'Shortland Street' and 'Friends', two excellent examples of television catering to the lowest common denominator. We were watching the news, and someone was doing something idiotic, I cannot recall what. Anyway, I turned to my brother and asked, "Why would they show that on the news? Stupid people will just copy it won't they?" He said to me, "No, Will, all the people stupid enough to copy that are watching Friends and Shortland Street!" Wise man.

I heart your wheels.

As a former CRX owner, I concur.

I wouldn't be keen on sleeping with anyone wearing FORD or HOLDEN regalia. Those polarfleeces just ain't attractive.

Happen whoever made that list was a Holden Man(3 on the list!)- the Falcon has for the most part been the bigger car of the two, and was always available with a bench seat where the Commodore wasn't! Explain that one?!

How much for that Gin-you-whine Em-Schport Gearknob?

Looked pretty decent for $500 when I saw it! oh and correction- one f**ked recaro!

Seems kinda obvious doesn't it? Big car versus small? Martyn, we have already discussed you and getting into a Suzuki Swift looking comical. DOn't even make us picture you doing that... shudder!

Woman.

I'm of the opinion that your first car should be manual with no power steering. That way, you don't learn laziness.
-
Godawful. Leave the racecars on the track, would hate to parallel park the bugger.
-
Funny mental image of Martyn getting into a Suzuki Swift!
-
What do you do that makes you think you're a bad driver?

When I use my towbar as a parallel parking sensor. -
Just had my hair cut. My Hairdresser, bless her, just mentioned that she had bought none other than a new Swift GTi (red of course!). Reckons it is brilliant, much better than her old Ford Escape V6. There you are Andrew, you have the same car as my hairdresser. I bet that has made your day, mate!

It's cool, at least technically, but I find the bodykit so "JDM" ish for a 1970s car. 2002 Turbo or something retro Alpina-ish would sex me up.

Agreed. I'm not a big fan of newschool cars, would rather drive something pre-1980 everyday, who cares if it breaks down every now and then? It's like people who won't build a house on a cliff face, because they might be hit by an earthquke once every 100 years, and then miss out on having an amazing view everyday.

Agreed about the Ex-Demos, but most of them aren't GTi models- these are actually really in demand, and the supplier can't keep up. You won't sell it for a lot less than you paid Andrew, was probably one of the best new car purchases you could make...
