  1. Nice choice, a mate of mine has a Swift as well, goes really good for such a lil' car! I'm a fan of the new Polo GTI turbo, got plans for one when I graduate next year. White with plaid interior, and a sunroof. Sold.
  2. BMW 2002tii, or a 1979 Saab 99 Turbo 2 door, in seventies orange. I'm a retro man. I own a late-ish model Corolla 1.6 as a daily (thanks for the cast off, Mum!), it is bloody boring though has great cupholders. Needing a weekend fun car though, miss my E30.
  3. Pah, $500. If it was $1 buynow, then I might be impressed Good score mate. Look forward to seeing it! Would you swap it for a firewood gun?
  4. Gutted to hear. But I couldn't help laughing when I saw on the main forum page "WANT TO BUY: STOLEN GSR"!!!
  5. North Shore has a lot to answer for!
  6. Check out the face pics thread, there's some killer hotties on there!
  7. Yep really nice guys, never heard a bad word about them, or their workmanship. Have seen plenty of BMWs outside but I think they love their Fiats best of all!
  8. Could be the highly rare 4 door sedan (or touring) E36 M3 Evo? They did exist, but I doubt it is one?!
  9. Obviously the guy was an idiot. My ex gf has a manual E36 318i. I have driven several over the years. I expect NZ new is a higher proportion of manuals than are Japanese imports, too.
  10. Cheers! You should definitely complain. Schoolbags are so 1990s. My fine was for $40, which goes a long way when one is a poor-ish student.
  11. Sure, send me details of said event, and if I think you have a case, I'll write you a letter. I remember being in 6th form when a guy in my class drew a naked picture of the teacher, that looked just like her. She wasn't particularly impressed.
  12. I'm a student with no job- I didn't have a $20 slice of time to deal with in the first place. Was great fun writing letters though. My new hobby.
  13. Yea go on, you talked me into it. I'll have you all captivated with my tales of how I fought the system and won, haha.

    RJ's new ride

Nice one, I'm considering a return to Hondas myself! On the subject of FWD vs RWD, it's all down to the individual car- there are diamonds and dogs in both catergories. Think of RWD disaster zones, such as the Isuzu Piazza (I owned one for a year- but the handling owned me), and brilliant RWDs such as the AE86 Toyota. Then, awful FWDs such as the Austin Allegro, and the fantastic VW Corrado. It's all down to the individual car, chassis and suspension combined with the right engine really make a car. Sure, my old CRX "del sol" VTi-R looked um, 'questionable', but it went round corners brilliantly, never felt detached, and had a the magical 100bhp/ litre to keep it moving. Same can't be said for the dork in the automatic diesel Nissan Laurel on cut springs... but he'd still think he was cooler than me! (does mean drifts ow bei)
  15. Sounds fair. You must be buying the first round.
  16. My email requesting payment has so far not yielded a reply.

Sparkle: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...&key=212332 Has cardinal leather sports seats! Buy!
  18. I've had thirteen at last count, and have yet to turn 21. One of my best mates is pushing 50 cars now, and is yet to turn 20. My 18 year old brother is up to 15, and dad has had 67 now. His oldest car, 1908.
  19. Current: Toyota Corolla TS Hatch (reliability, great cupholders, but yawn!), Ford Courier Diesel (rugged workhorse, sounds great with no muffler) Previous: 1988 BMW 318i (My first German!) 1992 Honda CRX VTi-R (Vtak yo!) 1992 Honda Civic ETi (slow, but 850 km per tank!) 1985 Mazda Familia BFMR 4x4 Turbo (awesome homologation special) 1972 Datsun 1200 sedan (simple, sturdy and mustard yellow) 1984 Fiat Uno 70SL on big fat Cromodoras 1990 Peugeot 205 GTi (written off sadly) 1984 Toyota Starlet Sprint RWD (awful and full of rust) 1990 Citroen AXGT (French go-kart. I want another.) 1983 Honda City Turbo (blew up after a day) 1985 Isuzu Piazza (yes, really) 1987 Daihatsu Charade Turbo (first car, and owned for 2.5 years, a record!)
  20. Ahh, silly me, it said serviced at BMW in Palmerston North, didn't look at the rest. Yes, Kapiti. Funny, cos I bought my white e30 from Raumati. Must be a good place to find one!
  21. Have requested a re-list of the car. It is in palmy though, might be better to get your long lost love Sparkle to have a look (unless Grant is your very obliging secret lover of course)
  22. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=67879552 could be perfect, if it hasn't already sold. Great looker, service history, NZ new, manual and a sunroof. What more could you want?
  23. My 318i would have been perfect. i sold it for $3500, was a 1988 318i manual 2 door, 154,000km, NZ new, very good condition. Like I say, WOULD have been perfect. It's becoming an E30 series car now. But yea, $2500 to $4500 buys an average to mint condition E30 316/318 manual. Chch is a good place to look if you don't want to go to the NI to find one- lots of older people with low mileage/ownership cars if you root around the plusher suburbs.
