I second that! Imp with Alfa 1.7 boxer in the ass.

I think the reason why SE doesn't appear on that list is beacuse SE is never on the back of a BMW, not that I have seen anyway, whereas you will see iS, iX, and td etc. It's really just a spec level and as such no longer exists in the NZ market, because new BMWs here are so highly specced. Most E30 nerds, though, will be able to spot a 'real' SE.

From memory, SE= Special Equipment. Usually has standard: Sunroof, Alloys, Air con, color coding, electrics, and a few other posh bits and pieces for the discerning junior executive of 1991.

Spotted this earlier whilst browsing... never been one for long distance sales, but it's a tempting proposition to get me back into an E30! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=68633096 Have always loved SE spec E30s, more so than Mtech. Any CHCH boys want to have a look at it on my behalf?

Sure sure, we all know it's arthritic from too much wrist action!

Tandy McLellan, Roy Saint Ronans, Bombay Sapphire TurboCharade. I reckon my gin counts as medication.

Ryan and I were discussing that car earlier. He said it needs sports seats and an mtech 2 steering wheel to complete it, and for the rice gearknob to be swapped for something tasteful. But otherwise it is a very sexy estate, I am a touring fan from way back. 2.7 makes it very cool, as well.

Can you ask them why I have to pay $90 a year for a compulsory student union fee, when I have no desire to ever be in a union of any form?

As the news so often reminds us, whether it be subarus or terrorists, generalizations are ALWAYS right! Personally, though, I'd buy a Lotus, or wait for the M version of the Z4/coupe. I, like Clarkson, have no time for i-Drive and flappy paddles.

Seller is clearly fresh of a boat, I'm guessing one of oriental extraction. Though by no means the most outlandish claim made about the 'rarity' of E36 318iS' on TradeMe. Not very nice, in my opinion. Preferably NZ new and definitely manual makes the only E36 318iS worth having, in my opinion. I also cannot see any leather, can anyone else?

Seen it before. Must have cost about as much to build as actually buying a decent used E46 touring would cost. But whatever turns them on!
-
I saw one of them, exactly the same, over new years up in Kerikeri. Bloody nice car, probably one of the ones you speak of. What would you say one was worth these days?

Three hours is a long time spent cleaning- even if you had just been doing a spot of four-wheel-driving! Haha nice E30 though.

Nah, cocaine. Top shelf stuff for these Audi drivers!

Looks to me like spraypaint, it's all coming off- check out round the air vents! White interiors died in the 1960s, In my humble opinion.

It reminds me of Eastern Europe. Err, no, it does not!

Wise words from a wise old man! Amen! By the way, I'm twenty and my dream car is a 1970s Saab 99 Turbo. If anyone has seen one, preferably in orange or lime green (real lime green, not that awful 'DX rotang' light lime green that you see), please let me know. I think it's high time I got the chance to attract attention to myself.

By any chance did you get a fine recently?

My FL 1988 318i had only a minor bit of surface sunroof rust, and the only time it leaked was when Smith and smith failed to seal my windscreen. Once again, though, a 'garaged all its life' car. That said, my parents bought a Pre FL 320i new in 1987, owned it until 2003, and in that time only covered 72,000km, garaged of course. It still had rust, regardless. Pre FL seems to get the rust worse, not sure why?

It looks like something a lower-class person who came into money would do. It's like turning the old soweto necklace into a bling-bling chain.

This happened in Lower Hutt at about 5.30pm tonight- no one was hurt, but the driver blacked out apparently, drove his brand new Audi A4 3.2 Quattro Avant onto the footpath and took out the lamp post above a pedestrian crossing!
-
Congrats on the new purchase. You're one of the few young people with taste that i have come across on the InterWeb!

Like I said, here is the pursuit of some revenue coming ahead of the safety of residents- someone mentioned before that the fire department would just break my window, take the handbrake off, and push my car forward- but the question remains, where? This is, remember, central Wellington, and there were cars parked in front of and behind me with very little room to spare, they are tight parallel parks. I have written to the local papers already to outline the issue and plan to contact the Fire Department as well- I can't imagine that they are enthused by the idea of a council cash cow potentially putting lives at risk! It takes only a few minutes for a house to go up in flames, as we are so often reminded.

Have taken photos of the area. No reflectors, just the faded triangle. The point is I did not know what a yellow triangle means, and there if there was nothing in the way of public information to tell me what it meant...I would have to rely on the word of others to know, as I am finding out now- and surely, the word of others is not considered official and binding in a court of law. I do not live in central Wellington (fortunately!), and am consequently used to fire hydrants being on grass verges, or at worst, footpaths. Inside a carparking area is to me a highly trivial place to put one. I do not care about the prospect of court costs, I would rather give the WCC some bad PR, plenty of contacts for getting it into the papers, and I'm prepared to fight it in the most dignified way possible.
