I think the reason why SE doesn't appear on that list is beacuse SE is never on the back of a BMW, not that I have seen anyway, whereas you will see iS, iX, and td etc. It's really just a spec level and as such no longer exists in the NZ market, because new BMWs here are so highly specced. Most E30 nerds, though, will be able to spot a 'real' SE.

From memory, SE= Special Equipment. Usually has standard: Sunroof, Alloys, Air con, color coding, electrics, and a few other posh bits and pieces for the discerning junior executive of 1991.

Not very nice, in my opinion. Preferably NZ new and definitely manual makes the only E36 318iS worth having, in my opinion. I also cannot see any leather, can anyone else?

Seen it before. Must have cost about as much to build as actually buying a decent used E46 touring would cost. But whatever turns them on!

By any chance did you get a fine recently?

My FL 1988 318i had only a minor bit of surface sunroof rust, and the only time it leaked was when Smith and smith failed to seal my windscreen. Once again, though, a 'garaged all its life' car. That said, my parents bought a Pre FL 320i new in 1987, owned it until 2003, and in that time only covered 72,000km, garaged of course. It still had rust, regardless. Pre FL seems to get the rust worse, not sure why?

This happened in Lower Hutt at about 5.30pm tonight- no one was hurt, but the driver blacked out apparently, drove his brand new Audi A4 3.2 Quattro Avant onto the footpath and took out the lamp post above a pedestrian crossing!

Like I said, here is the pursuit of some revenue coming ahead of the safety of residents- someone mentioned before that the fire department would just break my window, take the handbrake off, and push my car forward- but the question remains, where? This is, remember, central Wellington, and there were cars parked in front of and behind me with very little room to spare, they are tight parallel parks. I have written to the local papers already to outline the issue and plan to contact the Fire Department as well- I can't imagine that they are enthused by the idea of a council cash cow potentially putting lives at risk! It takes only a few minutes for a house to go up in flames, as we are so often reminded.

Have taken photos of the area. No reflectors, just the faded triangle. The point is I did not know what a yellow triangle means, and there if there was nothing in the way of public information to tell me what it meant...I would have to rely on the word of others to know, as I am finding out now- and surely, the word of others is not considered official and binding in a court of law. I do not live in central Wellington (fortunately!), and am consequently used to fire hydrants being on grass verges, or at worst, footpaths. Inside a carparking area is to me a highly trivial place to put one. I do not care about the prospect of court costs, I would rather give the WCC some bad PR, plenty of contacts for getting it into the papers, and I'm prepared to fight it in the most dignified way possible.
