  1. CLASSIC (AND MODERN) BMW PARTS SPECIALISTS: Contrary to some rumours floating about - we are still going and supplying parts for Bimmersport members! As always, we still offer the 15% discount on in-stocked items. For over 30 years, we have been sourcing classic parts for BMW vehicles, classic and modern, and we have been the "go-to" for many BMW Classic car repairers and owners alike. We are still trading as 'Euro Italian Car Parts' - we have simply changed our name relative to additional sides re the 'Italian' facet (owned by Stellantis, who owns French brands as Peugeot, Citroen as also US Chrysler, Jeep, RAM and Dodge marques). This also continues with us, today, including: Nationwide Shipping Across NZ from our Auckland and Waikato warehouses. Over 80+ Suppliers across NZ and Overseas. If we can't source it, then chances are, it's no longer available! Popular models as 2002, E21, E30, E36, Z3, E31, E32, E34, E39, E46 etc. Specialised knowledge in BMW Parts, including engine-swaps and modifications Intake boots, Air-Flow Metres etc. Comprehensive Parts List and System to ensure the right fitment for your vehicle 7 - 10 day turnaround (often less) for special order parts Quality European and American-manufactured Parts - we do not source 'Chinese aftermarket'. 2. Hi there, I’m new on this forum. I have a 318i 2002. I’m having a issue in automatic transmission. When I start to drive the car after a cold start, rpm suddenly goes bit higher. Then the transmission error occurs and shifts are becoming hard. Can feel them really hard. However, once I stop the engine and restart the car, this error and hard shifts go away. Car would shift as normally. Does anyone have idea on what could be the issue? Could it be a bad MAF? No check engine light so far. And I did change the transmission fluid and filter as well. But still issue is there. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hey guys, my mum owns a BMW 318ti, N42 engine. It is misfiring while at idle. Check engine light is on, got it scanned at my work, it is coming up with 3 errors, Motronic ME 9.2 (4). I was wondering if anyone had an idea on common problems with this? I have attached a picture of what was picked up with the scanner. Sadly couldn’t get exact engine fault codes, only this. Any help would be appreciated. I understand now that the N42 is a terrible engine, and this car isn’t good. Wish I had of known that before she bought the car!
  4. A couple of random treasures I had salted away that need to go as I slowly come to terms with never owning a 2002. Wellington based. NOS air cleaner housing. Comes with seal and bracket, all fixings/fastners. Slight marring of the paint on the top of the housing, but I imagine this is still an uncommon part to find new. To suit the later twin barrel solex carb. $250. Electronic ignition setup. Used, removed in working order from a 2002tii. Includes Crane XR700 unit, bosch coil, HT leads and distributor cap. Could be useful for other m10 setups. $100.
  5. Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations for a mechanic in Auckland (central preferably) to work on my 1974 2002. I'm somewhat mechanically minded and can tackle the odd jobs my self but find my self without the tools/space/time when the old girl decides to get a bit temperamental. I'm after a shop/ one man band who either specialises in classic cars or at the very least knows what a carburetor looks like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Shaun.
  6. I'm after a long chrome bumper for my 1974 2002. The closer to Auckland the better but I can travel. Cheers.
  7. After altering my dizzy to take electronic ignition and ECU-which has now got an unrepairable fault!! am unable to go back to the standard, can't find the bits I removed and mech adv solidly epoxied solid. Anyone got a spare lying about, I think its a JFU4. For a '73 2002, M10 from an E21. Paul Chisholm , [email protected] 0274501711
  8. So I guess this is where I should do a little write up and add all the stuff my dad has done on his 74 2002. It all began about 5 years ago when dad got the car in a dereg state that needed a full restore. Rusty sills were replaced and the full car was stripped down to bare metal, razor blades were used to scrape the layers of paint back, the car was originally green, but once we scraped off the red paint it was finally back to the bare metal. The drivers side floor was repaired too due to rust, finally making the car rust free! Unfortunitly dad didnt really get any pictures during the build of the car or of it in its stripped state. The guards were then cut and then welded to allow for the flares to be bolted on along with the BBS RS 15x8 et13 offset reps to be installed. This proved to be a bit of an issue come recompliance where an LVV Cert was also needed, this passed easily but added to the cost of the build. We managed to pick up a mint Tan leather interior out of a 635csi. This fitted in perfectly and the rear bucket seats look amazing and are amazingly comfy! The original 2L m10 single carby engine still powers it all but maybe one day in the future a twin carb setup or injected setup might be added to make the car a little easier to use as a bit more of a daily driver. The paint was chosen to be Polaris Silver, as the original 2002 turbos only came in the white or silver and my grandfather at the time owning a 1974 E9 3.0CS in polaris silver. So I guess here is the place where I will post some glamour shots of her! I have only shot the outside of the car but Im sure over time I will continue to utilize the little car as a stand in model whenever I want something pretty to take photos of! If you want to know more about this car feel free to ask, dad has a whole lot more on it and Im sure we will add more to the story of this car!
  9. So the other day my old man decided we need more BMW's.... We picked up a 323i E21 factory 5 speed manual (Not the dogleg box ) thats straight as alltho needs paint, and has 6.5k of recipts for engine work with the rego on hold! In this same deal we also got a REG and WOF'd PFL 320i E30 sedan, it has a mint dash and runs mint! Needs some paint and the only downside to the cloth interior is one little cigerette butt burn in the drivers seat! These add to my collection of 2 e36 Ti's, my little brothers e30 coupe and my old mans E46 touring and 74 2002. Now.... what would a good running 323i e21 5 speed manual be worth these days if we were to respray it and tidy it all up? The E30 I am trying to claim for myself to paint up and keep as a little toy or as a daily while the 328Ti becomes more of a garage queen getting more time and money thrown at it
