*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 (edited) Hi there, I have a pre-face lift e36 using the old grills, and I am wondering what parts would I need to upgrade it so I can use the face lift grills? And how much would it cost? thanks heaps I got F/L front panel from European Auto spares in Ryan Place Manukau. Was $170 from memory and cost $100 to paint Edit: They also do the kidney grills as well, but make sure you get the OEM ones off them if they have them in stock....the after market ones are sh*t...the retaining clips break, if not get the OEM ones. You wont need any other parts. Edited February 19, 2009 by *Glenn*
Mark 178 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 I did this to my old E36... I love the new grilles over the old ones. Brand new facelift nosepanel is $200 from BMW. Grilles I got for $50 secondhand off Trademe. Paint was $100 as Glenn said.

3 SERIES 93 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Ive been keen to put facelift grills on my E36 too. What is different about the nosepanel? I can see the diff with the Grill but not the nosepanel. Maybe I need to photos side by side to compare.
Mark 178 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 (edited) FL panel is more curved and the holes are smaller to accommodate the trapezoidal shape of the new grilles. Edited February 19, 2009 by _Mark_

briancol 3 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 As Brent suggested, colour code the whole grill. I have done this to my E36 and it does look 'staunch' Check out the pics of it. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=19512
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Brent are you sure the holes are a different size I have black "facelift "grilles in my 95 328 they just push straight in no extras or alterations required As far as I am aware the only difference in the front panel in later E 36 models is to accomodate headlight washer systems parts list . note part 21 , up to 09/1996 http://bmwfans.info/original/E36/Cou/325i-...41/ill-41_0043/ and face lift type from 09/1996 http://bmwfans.info/original/E36/Cou/328i-...41/ill-41_0043/
