E30 SE v8 conversion

Recommended Posts

Hey Sam Its been a while since I text you about your 5 stud swap,

we need to find somebody with an E30 front hub that has been removed from the front strut so i can 3d model it into a 5 stud version and figure out how the bearing etc all works.

I don't really have anything handy I can measure.

Well took her for another test run today, and i videoed it for you guys!

There are still a few things wrong with her at the moment.

clutch seems to slip a bit

exhaust leak

and needs a wheel alingment.

But it goes ok, will run much better i am told once they have reflashed the ecu and put a better updated tune into it.

Here are the links, excuse the average filming job etc.

Cheers mate.

Haha the badge is coming along, just putting the two together and letting the glue dry. will put a pic up soon :D

I pulled out all the plugs and they were all well rooted, so put some new ngk r platinum in it and it runs so much better.

Im not to sure whats up with the clutch slip, i think the clutch isnt bled properly as its a PITA to do. will have to look into it a bit more.

Cheers mate, just wondering how i should add two driveshaft hoops into it....

Got it back from cert today and he was amazed how fast it was.

the only thing it failed on was not having driveshaft hoops which i knew it would fail on.

So on saturday will be doing that then get the cert plate on its way!

good news i guess

Nice work, You got that sorted pretty quick.

Everyone says you need driveshaft loops, but the cert guy I took my car too didn't say anything about it lol guess I got lucky? He seemed more fussy on having spring washers everywhere..

I think its more for engine conversions but i could be wrong.

Yeah i didnt have the spring washers problem but i used nylocks mostly so that could be why

Sounds awesome, I'm pretty amazed at the low end pull to 100kph. Would be a dream to drive around town. Oh and welcome to the BBK club. Just becareful, until you get use to it, Its _really_ easy to lock up from high speed down to 0.

Personally not looking forward to this drive shaft loop thing :|
