Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 Just looking at that touring in Dunedin and wondering. What if it was converted to a two door, fitted with M3 guards, and lumped with either a race prepped M30, or a M88, M5 engine, both of which I happen to have acquired? I realise it would be a lot of work, but can imagine it would look rather nice. I'd only have two windows on the side with the coupe conversion. Anyone got a few minutes to photoshop me an example? It's my bid on the touring by the way.

DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 their have been a couple people in pug land that have taken a 4 door 306 sedan and made it into a 2 door. Typically (not sure with BMW's) the 2 door model doors longer to allow access into the rear of the car, it requires a fair bit of work to the b pillar area, some sheet metal for rear skin and to be welded all up around where the rear door was... Orginal spec: into Yes it's a mid-90's tuner special...
Guest FrantiC Report post Posted July 21, 2009 Dunno bout going 2 door that would be a hell of a mission and look weird especially with all the windows in a touring? But m3 guards and the engine DOOOO IT
E30 325i Rag-Top 2957 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 It's OK Foxy, we all know you are not mad - just "different" I love the way your mind is working though - "I've got all these bits - what can I do with them? I know I'll put them all into an E30 Touring" Classy!

Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 From what I can understand, the way to do it would be to cage it first, welding the cage to the roof and gutters, to stop the roof from moving when the B pillar is cut out. Then reweld the B pillar back where it needs to be.
|ncary 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 E30 Wagon Coupes exist for those who don't realise. I think 8 were made. I'll find a pic.
|ncary 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) I'd give my left nut for the top one. It's called the Stoere Touring. Oh and 11 of these chassis were made, not 8. Edited July 21, 2009 by Incary

Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) Are they BMW or after market, like the E28 touring, where you could buy the kit and do it yourself? They look just like I thought they would, and if the dimensions are right, the M3 wings should drop on. I was looking at this, http://www.dtmpower.net/forum/e30-3-series...ch-project.html Edited July 21, 2009 by Silver Fox
DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) it would be easy to get a wrecked touring (if you could find one) and slap the rear upper section on a e30 coupe... But a full length e30 touring 2 door = much kooler M3 Coupe anyone??? Or well it's grampa Edited July 21, 2009 by DRTDVL
Apex 693 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 it would be easy to get a wrecked touring (if you could find one) and slap the rear upper section on a e30 coupe... X2 but where would you find one, us touring drivers are very cautious drivers you know. It’s interesting and ambitious that’s for sure, you’d want a coupe body and doors wouldn’t you? Perspex rear windows… With a F-Glass M3 kit.. Sounds cool. Tuff as f**k spec
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 ^^freakin tuff. Could you not just leave it as a four door and put the m3 gaurds on? Would probably be way easier and look a tad more "factory"?
