turboprop 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 A friends project ive been helping with the last few days. Currently: M52 2.8 alloy block M50b25 NV head Compression ratio is somewhere around 11:1 (cant remember exact) ODB1 ZF gearbox 2 door 318 Largest radiator we can fit in there (from e36) Adjustable rear bias valve for rear brakes New engine seems to be similar weight to the old m40, possilby lighter, car seems to sit a bit higher with new engine in it. Engine is sitting in there, gearbox crossmember has been made, almost completely wired up. Old engine out, engine bay cleaned: Trying to get a pic of the positive camber without the engine, didnt show up too well: Mmmm, shiny: Yeah... doing somthing. Just chilling: Westside up in here: Getting ready to chuck da b!tch in: Up up and: In: My mate shortened the drive shaft today, and the shifter linkages have been shortened and rotated by another mate. I will go around and finish the wiring sometime. A few little things to do like sorting the brakes, welding the diff, turning the rear bias right down and dropping a skud. turboprop 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) Got it going last night. Didnt get around to getting a video, it was late and dark etc. Lengthened the driveshaft, the ZF box is really short: Made a new bush up for the driveshaft since the old one fell apart when we took it out to lengthen it: The gearbox crossmember made up, just test fitting it, painted it later: Lets make the exhaust. Muffler was specially made. 2.5": Went for a drive last night, probally did around 100km and nothing fell off or broke so all seems to be good. turboprop 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Tell Alex to try not to crash this one into a bank this time k318 solid brake discs arent very good. Stopping from 100kph* in a hurry kills them very quickly.*may or may not actually be 100kph.
