is this worth fixing? 1989 e30 325ia sth african spec

Recommended Posts

just got this in at my new work place .

just wondering what you guys think it might be worth if fixed up .

just had a sleight frontal (bumper ,bonnet , guard etc) and rear bumper and filler panel between the tail lights .

runs great still has current reg and wof etc.

what's it worth if fixed up .

its one of those high spec'd SA cars ,with obc , cruise , large fuel tank , large tool tray , black leather recaro's ,

we have a parts car here for some of the bits including maybe a full mtec kit also in black.

i think we might even have enough parts to make up a manual conversion kit .

what's your thoughts??

I'd do it, or at least put all the good bits into another E30 if you've got the time...

Calculate repair cost V end sell subtract buy price.

Calculate parts value less buy price.

I'd wreck it.

last year a 325 auto with around 160k on the clock with $1 reserve sold for 1.5k on trademe. Body was straight, and had normal leather interior. It was a repo auction. Dunno if that figure helps

i though maybe it would be maybe worth around $3k or is that too high now ,

but it has low k's and is pretty tidy .

and whats its worth if its a manual and maybe with mtec II kit??

Being an Auto plain Jane with some leather seats I would say it would only fetch around 3K. Putting an Mtech kit on it would only make it worth whatever a Mtec kit is worth on top.

Only the registered M's are worth the big bucks. But the gear in that car would be sort after for non M spec or NZ new E30's. Better in bits.

i'd say a good 4k. i'd pay that much for a tech II e30 manual with the interior condition thats similar to yours. its rare to see a good 325 and people will pay more for it

SA cars can fetch an extra 500 - 1000 on top of an identical (more or less) Jap car, coz of the special bits on them. That said.. i wrecked one with a siezed engine. id resto it an flick it, seeing as you can get parts for below cost from other wrecked ones?
