1994 ('95 Regd) NZ new 540 iS Six speed manual

Techno Violet with full grey electric Recaro interior

4.0L V8 (M60 - good for 286BHP out of the factory)

418,000km (yes, that's 400 plus! Original motor and still with great compression)

- planned to drop in an M62 if the original donk ever started to slow down, but it hasn't yet!)

3.15 Ratio LSD

New Carbon Kevlar Clutch with lightened flywheel in 2010 (Autoclutch Auckland)

Gearbox opened checked and flushed recently

Full Service History (incl all receipts for work and original sale receipt)

H&R E34 springs

Bilstein Sport shocks

Uprated, heavy duty swaybars front and rear

18" M-Parallel wheels, staggered 8" front and 9" rear

Nice burbly remus-esque exhaust

New WOF and just serviced

Items recently replaced:

Brake master cylinder

Radiator reservoir

Fuel pump

Clutch master and slave cylinders

Both rocker cover gaskets

Rear dogbones

there's more - will add later

Original Business RDS headunit and 6 CD boot stacker (complete with 2 cartridges)

Something like 8 speakers too

Auto dipping reversing passenger side mirror

ASC-T Traction control

etc etc

I am selling my pride and joy. Necessity and growing kids mean a change of vehicle is called for.

I love this car and it has been very good to me. I have used it as my daily and thrashed it at more than half a dozen track days over the three years I have owned it. It goes VERY well.

On the flipside it is a compliant ride and returns pretty reasonable fuel consumption for the size of the car.

Paint is not mint, but tidy considering the age.

By way of background the 540is is a very limited run BMW. Only 250 were ever made in RHD and by our count only around a dozen reached NZ as new cars in the '90s.

I'm listing it here before it goes on trademe. No bullshit please. If you wish to discuss, try me on 021 2288 567. I can probably make arrangements for the car to be in Auckland at some stage in the near future too.

Negotiable. Taking offers

Cheers

Simon

Best of luck with the sale Si.

This car to me is my first standout memory of BS when I joined, awesome car in person and one that has been used in a way that they all should be treated.

If only I could convince Dad to buy it as a race car tow car ;)

arn't e34's great 265 tyres in the rear with out any mods.

had similer size on my old alpina kited up one , but it had 255 on the rear on 10" rims which looked a bit pinched in , should have had 265

Cool! Thats some big tyres alright. I have picked up some m pars and strangley pretty much making it look like a twin to your 540is!

Mags came with two 245/45/18's which are too tall to use, so looking at what tyres to get. I noticed that the factory e34 mpars where fitted with 245x40x18's all round, so was thinking to just get them all round, but staggering the wheels may be an option now knowing bigger fits on the rear.

Do you think 245's will be alight on the front?

Good luck with the sale, have you had much genuine interest?
