E36 M3

Recommended Posts

Pretty sure it's just an M3 in a 318is shell, as stated above...

Except he has put the new VIN plate on it, which creates the perception he's trying to hide that fact.

Edit:

But for $12k, it could be good fun!

Repost. Been discussed to death.

On TM yes. But not at Turners for an estimated $12k sale. That's almost tempting buying if it's all put together properly. And a lot better than $18.5k on TM.

I like the comments section on turners stating:

"This vehicle is registered as a BMW M3 with NZ Transport Authority, however we cannot confirm its authenticity. Please make up your own mind."

Yeah, buyer beware. In saying that though, there is alot of value for 12k

Not like E36 M3's were hand build, and it goes harder than almost every 3.2 I've seen. 12K is a deal.

Would be a pretty good base for a race car then - lots of nice bits to sell...

What are the difference between the m3 an non m shells?

All I can think of is the subframe reinforcement

All I can think of is the subframe reinforcement

Reinforced Subframes front and rear, reinforced strut towers, don't know whether noticable or or not?

Basically f**k all really, mine obvioulsy has reinforced strut towers but the 900 pound springs still broke them.

Did yours bulge up at the top or split lower down the strut tower

Have you done anything to further reinforce them?

Just split across one of the stud holes, the strut brace was helping spread the load however. Just drilled and welded, both sides were the same.
