deeveus 81 Report post Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) I really like the sound of a V8, that's why I have a Commodore ute with a very illegal exhaust which makes the windows shake. But for every day use you just couldn't go past a 335d - one of those remapped would take on just about anything. Visit My Website - that would be awesome sitting in the driveway! Driftit 2078 Report post Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Have been looking at 330D coupes to replace my fathers E55 AMG. Have you looked at importing one from the UK to save a bit of money? Seems to be plenty more options over there. On average the cars are around 10K NZD cheaper with more options and less KM's after VAT and GST calculations. Something like this but with 100K less on the clock and coupe. haha. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-425711878.htm Edited December 13, 2011 by driftit
kingkarl 136 Report post Posted December 14, 2011 Running costs blah torque blah depreciation blah blah blah If you can afford it, a 996 turbo shouldn't take more than two seconds thought... it's a 911 turbo 0-100 in 4 and change... and it's a 911 turbo Run it for a few months then offload it if the impracticality isn't outweighed by the awesomeness

Like the closing of the eyes lol! Has he remapped it? They will chuck out & wait for it... 264kw & 710nm - bahahahahaha! That in the car that's the size of a skateboard would be a huge amount of fun. Best $1000 you could ever spend. Another 335d Edited December 15, 2011 by The Diesel Guy

Michael. 2313 Report post Posted December 20, 2011 Jesus. Quite a weapon. I only have a 350nm in my little V8
deeveus 81 Report post Posted December 20, 2011 I think my VR V8 ute is about that 350nm mark. Depends on the size of the car, the torque on my ute feels quite muscly especially at take off, instant power without rev's 600nm on these is an awesome feeling. Especially when you have 1 ton behind you passing multiple cars as if they aren't there.

E30 325i Rag-Top 2958 Report post Posted December 20, 2011 Trying to decide over the last few nights what to look at next and trying to decide. I want something that hauls ass this time - maybe Bimmersport can choose the next one lol... A few possibles : GTR There's a few M5's but seem to be imports... 996 Turbo Possibly one of these at the right price Possibly a M3 sedan at a decent price I love your buying process Clinton, start off with a list that includes the GTR, M5, M3, 996 Turbo and end up with.. ...a diesel X5 (that's not even on the list to start with!!). A very good truck granted, but still not an obvious choice given the list you started from. I hope it lasts you well and you are happy with it.
deeveus 81 Report post Posted December 20, 2011 I think every time I start with what I want, then look at the running costs. All in all, a bad time of year to be shelling out 80k on a car.
