The guy probably fitted it himself anyway There was a woman who sued a shop over there, because a toddler ran in front of her in the shop and she fell over and broke a hip or something. She won the case. It was her child..... In NZ I have a feeling that ACC will pay out to someone who trips over robbing your house. Correct me if I am wrong, I may be confusing it with the USA story. However, a story a while ago of a burglar falling through a skylight and smashing his legs got sufficiently large number of people up in arms in protest at his ACC funded recovery. I am sure the law was changed so that if you were convicted of committing a crime, or if the injury was "conceived" during the execution of a crime then ACC does not cover.
