Greg111 13 Report post Posted September 30, 2012 As of Tomorrow Jeff Gray European Hastings is ten Brands, one of the biggest Brand holders in NZ. Exsisting: BMW Chrysler Jeep Dodge New: Jaguar LandRover Volvo Renault Fiat Alfa Romeo HB European was over the road from JG which Jeff owned as well, as of friday it closed and the signs came down, unsure of how it's all going to work as they are both small sites, whether sales goes on one side of the road and parts and service go on the other who knows. Going to be an interesting term of events. On the plus side I got this for the weekend. I love Jags and would be the only other Euro that I would own. deeveus 81 Report post Posted October 31, 2012 If those new brands above are being introduced to your workshop you know that Land Rover alone will definitely guarantee you a job lol.

deeveus 81 Report post Posted October 31, 2012 Yeah, not to mention: Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Jaguar ,Volvo, Renault, Fiat, Alfa Romeo! Haha, I was going to mention that, but Land Rover is probably worse than all those put together. I have heard the newer stuff is better but I was bitten hard on my old 2005 Range Rover diesel. Never again.

deeveus 81 Report post Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) I came close to buying an RS6 a few years back, but got put off with the repair cost reports and fuel consumption, then again, they aren't a machine you buy for saving money. They rekon they are tits Greg? Edited November 1, 2012 by The Diesel Guy

Greg111 13 Report post Posted November 2, 2012 Nope didn't rate it at all, yeah it was faster than your average but so is my E36. I would rate it against the E90 M3 but not against the E39 M5 of which it was to compete against. Noise was good.

Apex 693 Report post Posted November 6, 2012 The C5 RS6 was a quick car, I remember revving up next to one at the lights to provoke it and short of a R35 GTR I have never seen a car disappear so fast into the distance with as such little fuss, he jut floored it and it was gone. That's my cool story. Cant wait for the new XF-RS

deeveus 81 Report post Posted November 8, 2012 It was a 03. E39 era. Geeze, from what I'd seen when I was looking at them they were epicly quick!
Apex 693 Report post Posted November 8, 2012 They are (were when new) epic quick, especially for a 1900kg wagon. They hit 100 in under 5 seconds, under 4.5 with a remap, and you can do with ease. They also have fancy restaurant dinner plate sized brakes with big calipers and very comfy leather Recaro's and from the outside are totally unassuming. Can not imagin they corner well though and I would still rather a "slow" M5.
Apex 693 Report post Posted November 8, 2012 Thread got me thinking about the old RS6, there is one for sale in Auckland at near 40k with 120 on it, not a bargain but a fast family car. Would not fancy the service costs or mechanical problems. Check this out though, not many family wagons can do 300kph let alone $40,000 familly wagons. deeveus 81 Report post Posted November 11, 2012 (edited) Yeah they're good bang for buck. Pitty they're really starting to look aged now, i.e they seem to look much older than they really are. EDIT: scrap that above lol, THIS one sits tough in black IMO. Edited November 11, 2012 by The Diesel Guy
