2003 E46 M3 - Build journey

Recommended Posts

Sourced from vividracing.com,cost me an arm tho. I have found a DIY post on m3forum after I send it to the workshop this morning...

you ll love the ssk, its way better then the factory one imo.

Loads of DIYs but don't know if I have the time, patience, or skill to do it. Yeah - not cheap.

Do you know what % reduction the SSK is?

Where are you located? Auckland?

Don't forget the Eisenmann - deeper, smoother more Porsche like even. I think many M3 S54 exhausts can make them sound like a Honda of sorts :S

Do like the Eisenmann too - Interestingly, Dad has one on his 996TT. Sounds brilliant.

We'll see where I end up further down the line...

Yeah mate sure was. It's in Auckland and the only Estoril blue - only other blue was a Topaz down south with 150,000+ kms

Nice choice of colour ! Mate had supersprint on his M3 , added a nice sound without being ott. On light throttle the car was neighbour friendly. Nail it and the M3 sounded as it should.

With the e46 M3 the leather covers can be taken off with a couple of basic leather tools. I did this when I changed over my rear seat back rest and transferred the cover to a ski pass unit. Keep an eye on Ebay as I've seen a full set of covers come up now and then. Could be another options for you either way.

Thanks mate, appreciate your feedback.

1) I've put the exhaust down the priority list. My girlfriends parents are sick of me waking them up every morning at 6:15am when I pick her up for work

Then again, the SS sounds great. Do you know if his was SS race or the quieter version?

Cheers for the info on the seat covers - didn't have a clue about that!

I just remembered this car also has the fold-down rear seats!

KW V2; did you source them locally or buy from US? Install yourself or get a shop to?

I'm pretty set on them. How have you found the short shifter in the car?

Definitely keen for some pics! B)

If you want the best deal on KW call Chris at Autoquip in Penrose, he will sort you out.

Just spied this - Congratulations mate that's an awesome looking machine! Love the colour!

There's a place in Onehunga that's selling a Hamann-style front lip (FG) for $500 - they've had it advertised for ages and it's bloody expensive, so I'd be surprised if they wouldn't move a bit on it.

Here it is.

Also if you are in the market for a Supersprint and want to compare it against standard, just give me a call.
