Not for me however, I'm not taking that route on. Edited July 3, 2013 by antil33t

antil33t 90 Report post Posted July 4, 2013 Ah, I did email them and they reckoned it would work. but I decided to go OBD1 for simplicity that, and I have a Single Vanos engine.

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) If you get the reader coil, EWS control unit and key from the car the engine came out of, you can get it wired to run. Otherwise order the EWS control unit and key from the chassis number on the DME. Did you get the engine wiring loom with the motor? Is / was the car auto or manual ? The problem you will have though is the DME will be looking for EGS, ABS & ASC signals. I understand this may be able to be coded out, but don't know anyone down there that can do it. Maybe have a talk to Graham at DCH Motor Sport. I understand the race guys are doing Vanos delete and running aftermarket ECU's and sensors. Do you have a thread going that explains what you are doing ? You may get the right info if people knew what you were doing. nipe 1 Report post Posted July 7, 2013 (edited) My bad, I thought I put info in first post and turns out i didnt OOOps. So, engine is out of early e46, no key is available to me hence the reason for this topic, the engine is going into e30. Judging by what Glenn is saying the easiest is to ditch factory ecu and go for standalone, I have spoken to a guy from another forum that successfully put ms3 in his car to run m54 (double vanos). So looks like this would be the way to go. P.S. I have everything available to me apart from the key. Thanks for your inputs so far guys! allan 295 Report post Posted July 7, 2013 You should be able to get a key the engine DME will have the last seven digits necessary for a dealer to obtain a key for you plus it could be a lot less expensive and hassle in the end.
