CarFolie 14 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) Hi everyone, Recently we have been getting a lot of enquiries for interior wrapping. No one seems to like the existing woodgrain, and many have chosen carbon fiber and brushed metal finish. We've tried many tricks and shortcuts, but came to a conclusion that taking parts apart and reassembling is the only way to get a perfect factory like finish. Just wanted to share what we had been up to, and get any sort of opinions/feedbacks. Lose your woodgrain! CarFolie 14 Report post Posted February 17, 2014 BMW E87 135i Woodgrain Interior wrapped in Gloss Piano Black We don't like pulling too many things off our customers' cars, but this particular model requires the whole center console removed in order to undo two screws that holds its ashtray. Lose your woodgrain!

_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted February 17, 2014 personally I am a big fan of the woodgrain look in my E34 (brings the exterior red into the car) , but that does look very attractive, and its a no brainer in most cars!

jonesrp 63 Report post Posted February 17, 2014 My car has grey leather and I like the woodgrain. Different story with a black interior I think.
nath 134 Report post Posted February 17, 2014 The black trim into that 1 series looks fantsatic, well done! Gives it that mod BMW-Individual look. How durable will the wrap be on trim? Nonetheless people must remember that woodgrain certainly has its place and isn't vermin to be rid of. Not everyone enjoys a car with a soul-less interior which lacks depth and character (proxy to the same of the owner??).

Yeah but your E34 is based in the 80s when wood grain was cool. I don't think too many modern cars should have the wood.... perhaps the more luxury orientated cars it would still work (like a Rolls) but the BMW wood grain on the new models really just looks tacky. Yes your right actually Rover probably killed the woodgrain fad, have you been in a Rover sedan circa 1995, the sh*t is everywhere. Edit: now i think of it, Rover were made by bmw at this era werent they? Edited February 18, 2014 by _Ethrty-Andy_
allan 295 Report post Posted February 19, 2014 BMW interiors are world renown for being the most boring or having the worst colour comb's around maybe just maybe the wood grain make it a little classeee One of those personal choice things I feel. my_e36 43 Report post Posted February 22, 2014 The original owner probably not realise they can or they were forced to take a certain kind of wood trim from dealer. Often there were different shades of wood colour and usually no cost to switch when ordering a new car. My e46 had a very light colour wood trim looks very good in the car.
