BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) this is a for sale thread not a disscussion thread on its value , if you are not interested in buying it or making an offer etc just move on and read the next thread etc thanks Edited March 27, 2014 by Brent HARTGE535i
yng_750 247 Report post Posted March 27, 2014 Agree ^ i think its decent value. Would rather have bad paint than a bad engine. Might be the start of another targa car Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk

MLee 35 Report post Posted March 29, 2014 Just out of interest, is the given an extreme example of quite a common issue with the E36's? I have heard that - although somewhat well painted - they had a tendency to peel. Can anyone confirm this?
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted March 29, 2014 some colours more so than others , but normally a owner of a m3 would get them repianted if needed. depends on how much is been outside in the nz harsh sun etc
MLee 35 Report post Posted March 29, 2014 Hmm interesting. Mine is Daytona violet and has very slight orange-peel over large sections of the car - I can only presume this is re-spray as I doubt it would have come out of the factory like that. If it has been re-sprayed it was painted stupidly well.I'm wondering if it had the paint fixed under warranty early in it's life.
jonesrp 63 Report post Posted March 30, 2014 It`s the old story though...this is an M3. Why would a previous owner let it go like that ? Too much money in the bank to care ? Not enough money in the bank to be able to look after it ?

The car was exposed to a very harsh environment for a long time. Sun will ruin paint pretty quickly.
Mark 178 Report post Posted March 30, 2014 I have seen wealthy people give some desirable cars to their teenage children who have neglected them. Could be what happened here? Craziest example was a high school friend of mine whose father gave him his RS500 Sierra Cosworth. It got trashed - house speakers hooked up in the boot, bumpers falling off, regularly thrashed. At 15 none of us knew just how rare and desirable it was at the time... sad now to think about it.
jonesrp 63 Report post Posted March 30, 2014 Brent`s the biz alright. I just don`t understand why someone would let the car go like that. Try trading it with a dealer and then telling that same ( shocked ) dealer that you`ve looked after the car. Or even worse , stick it up on Trade me and describe it as `well loved , but time to let it go to another good home`. No issues with Brent, I keep an eye on his cars for sale. And I bought a nice wee M5 style boot spoiler off him a few months ago for my e39.
