earon 32 Report post Posted June 5, 2014 Hi guys got a new set of tyres fitted on the m3 cs, would be awesome if you guys could maybe recommend a few wheel alignment places?? Around the Auckland area, I don't mind driving a wee distance here or there as long as the works excellent. I've heard of a few alignment horror stories so I thought I'd best ask the guys on the forum first. Thanks in advance Sent from my HTC_PN071 using Tapatalk

Neal 544 Report post Posted June 6, 2014 0.2 ! A certain Vince Martin chain in Wgtn did tyres and wheel align on the wifes car. Left side 0.5 neg camber , right side 1 degree after. Told within spec (for oval racing maybe). Also got random size valve stems and 3 different styles of caps and fourth missing (had brass ones before) Lesson learnt. DIY or specialist for tyres and wheel alignment.
BreakMyWindow 1874 Report post Posted June 6, 2014 Anyone ever come across a shop that actually follows bmw recommendations for wheel alignment? I.e full tank of gas weights in both front and rear seats? Pretty sure this recommendation is not ltd. To just bmw.
yng_750 247 Report post Posted June 7, 2014 Good point. Wonder if the dealerships do it that way?
Allanw 1071 Report post Posted June 7, 2014 I don't know if any would - takes effort! They'd probably charge more to do it. I also wondered if the specs in the machine are the same as BMW ones, or if they account for the lack of weights, so they aren't required???
qube 3570 Report post Posted July 17, 2014 Just waiting for my car at andre simms mitsubishi. Gettinf alignment done by Peter Alder as recommended. Had a chat and he was a nice guy and seemed like he knew what he was doing. Will post up results once i get the car back. Quoted price was $85+gst which doesnt seem too bad compared to those run of the mill alignment tyre shops that use some random trainee dude.
