MISS BM 712 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 A few days ago, I decided to go ahead and purchase a mate for the singular Schnitzel that was sitting so lonely in my drive.. And so, back I came with a pretty neat little car. An E46 328 Manual, I really couldn't go wrong.. And in that Alpine white colour, it was near perfect for the price. And it has 4 doors.. Which is still a concept I seem to be adjusting to again I have a few things in store for this one, having completed majority of the cosmetical changes all over one weekend... And so the list begins. She came stock standard, nothing has been touched (okay maybe the rims somewhere down the line) but pretty clean and pristine for the age/kms (which is 169.. Not yet ready to say 170) No dents, dings etc etc. Full service history with Team McMillian (to the understanding of those who work there..... can't seem to find it on paper *tut tut*) So overall, a really nice base to start with, well I thought so anyway. Purchased the car on Thursday (10th) Things completed: - Tinted Windows (Friday) done by the Forum Sponsors CarFolie (great job!) - Headed over to Ray @ HellBM for a scan and some flasher bits and bobs to add on.. So on went clear rear indicators and clear sides (need to find fronts) - Repaint of rims to a satin/matte black - Grills to a matte/satin black - Stupid 'M' badge removed from the rear end also I bought some Eibach springs, but unfortunately got the wrong ones (thanks to a handy dandy mate who can't read ... Might see how they could look anyway if they don't sell... It really does feel like a boat compared to the Schnitzel. This car is going to be the weekend/fun car and also being a bit dusty with 3 pedals, clean up my manual skills. Got a few more plans install for it, but I also need not forget my Schnitzel which is due for a bit of work. - Bushes - Wrap interior (current wood trim look) - Short Shifter - Clutch Kit (seems to slip a tiny bit under load) - Exhaust - Lowering system of some form - And maybe some 'go fast' ideas if the budget allows. Some before and after photo's. Before are first two.
Palazzo 479 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 Nice buy, is that the Saf one that was on? Thought it was cheap and a good start. I preferred the wheels as they were, but it's your car, so go nuts.

Yup sure was. I have a bit of a White on Black thing with my BMW's.. 7er was the same, and it's now following suit and looks like the smaller sibling to the brothers M5, also white on black. Will be whiting out that black trim though.. Not sure I like it as is!

MISS BM 712 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 Hiace looks good, wish i could drive it. E46 is fun! sorry for putting it over 170,000! Haha what happened to the Hiace??? Yeah, at least it happened when you were driving it, I think I would of cried if it clicked over when I was.. Luckily I didn't notice when the Schnitzel did the 250 mark.. Ironically was on the phone to Sam when I noticed.. you probably heard me screaming on the other end of the line hahaha!

Haha! Says you with two lol. My excuse is the manual factor. Need to have one of each right? Sadly I can't cook to save my life, so Miss Chef doesn't apply here

qube 3570 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 I say white out the trim. Will look much cleaner. Kind of like the amber fronts, looks unique! How do you feel about a black roof?
MISS BM 712 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 I say white out the trim. Will look much cleaner. Kind of like the amber fronts, looks unique! How do you feel about a black roof? Yeah, I did so on the 7er and it looked heaps better. Was/is the plan with this one, but a few say do and a few say don't, but hey, at the end of the day it's up to me.. So I will most likely do it! I like my clear indicators, and will be going with a smokey tinge like on the Schnitzel

MISS BM 712 Report post Posted August 9, 2014 Ahaaa.. So thats why they say use 4 Cylinder springs for well, a 4 cylinder.. 50mm to the lowest point at the front bumper.. About a gizillion mm at the back worth of clearance. On the plus side, it doesn't handle like a boat! I just might loose a few bumper bits on the way... handgrenade 189 Report post Posted August 12, 2014 amber, you can get some spring packers (not sure what they are actually called) to bump the front up a bit (they sit between the spring and the perch mount) and are usually used to even out the ride height .. might help with the fronts .. not sure of the limits of how many you can use (they come in various sizes and are stackable). westy 614 Report post Posted August 12, 2014 Might have a pair of front h&r springs in the garage collecting dust. Think they're 6ers. Can have em if you want. Came out off a black sister car to this one.
