Just finished a late X MASS present for Askan for his race car

Bonnet 9kg

Boot lit 6kg

99% fibreglass + small aluminium plates for the bonnet pins and 8 x 15 mm aluminium plates treaded for the bolts for the hinges.

Very technically it will allow greater acceleration due to decreased mass, but won't increase the top speed as the aerodynamics will be unaffected..

Will have much better bragging rights and cool / wank factor though.

And it's also another reason for Ash not to get his car on the track any time soon...

better off working on diff gears and gearbox.

dunno man, my road wheels = 21kg each, my track wheels = 16.4kg with tires. It made 2 seconds difference to lap times. After several laps = a pretty big gap.

I think I have a 2 door ac snitser front and back mould

But if you want me to make a bonnet and boot,

If you can supply me with a steel one I can make a mould of it like I did for Askan

I can understand liter wheels in respect to spinning inertia, but e30 body panels are pretty lite to start with.

The e36 on the other hand, the body panels feel like lumps of concrete caved to look like body panels.

Never mind the fitment of the boot, I need to cut the bolts shorter on the wing. This is bolted into place but the boot isn't attached properly.

Fit is tight on a standard e30 bonnet, but I'll glue it after I get it all back from the painters.

Looking good, you're ahead of me already! And how come yours doesn't over-hang the sides of the boot like mine??

I am thinking that we are going to need something up front as well, like a splitter, to balance it out, or it's going to have too much rear and not enough front front grip??
